Audrey thought about his question for a moment as they headed into the town “Gwen’s Boutique. They have a lot of... mermaid dresses. And, Gwen is really nice.” she told him, glancing up at him. Luckily Gwen’s boutique was right there, she grabbed his wrist and pulled him in because he was moving too slow. “Gwen, hey! I’m going to see all of your mermaid dresses please,” she told her with a grin as she walked towards the dressing rooms.

Stefan huffed a sigh as he was pulled into the boutique, and followed close behind. He eyed this person that his referred to as Gwen before he sat down on a chair that was outside of the dressing rooms. He leaned back in the chair and pulled his phone out, mindlessly scrolling on it.

Luke stops, and he sees her walk into a store, he smiles to himself. Getting off the horse, he walks into the store, people bowing at his entrance "you may get up" he tells them. And they all stop bowing, he walks over to the brother and taps him on the should, then walks to the wall and leans himself on it "where's your sister?" he asks the brother, his tone cold.

Starling stops hugging him and backs off, she frowns "okay then, i see how it is" she walks away with her luggage annoyed.

Audrey emerged in a pale yellow dress, her nose wrinkled, clearly not pleased with how it looked. She stopped as her eyes landed on the king talking to her brother. As Stefan motioned to her she dropped her eyes to the ground and did a little curtsy before she rose her gaze again, clearly nervous. She sweating a little and that made her more uncomfortable even if you couldn't see it. She shot her brother a 'I don't like this dress' look. She looked back at the king and wondered what he wanted.

Stefan looked up from scrolling on his phone as the king appeared in front of him, unlike most of the vampires, he didn't worship this guy. He didn't move to bow, he just looked up at him. His eyebrows furrowed as he asked about his sister, eyes guarded and protective. He wanted to ask why but that's when Audrey came out in a yellow dress that made her look like a daffodil. He motioned to her with his head to show him where she was. He knew she didn't like the dress and he shook his head in response that he didn't either before watching Luke again.

Luke watches Stefan for a quick moment, then snarls "learn respect boy" he says. His guards quickly come over about to grab Stefan, but look quickly says "no, he's fine, im not here for him. Although if he continues to show disrespect, you may do something with him" he walks over to Audrey and lifts her chin up "looking for a dress my love?" he asks her, smiling, he drops his hand and looks up into her eyes, his smile reaching them, he truly did like her. But of course as a king he wont show it.

Starling sighs "Oh ok, yup good excuse" she shakes her head then starts ,laughing "well i guess all men stop when a pretty girl walks by" she laughs again. 'Alright lets go"

Audrey watched their interaction and frowned, her eyes darkened slightly. A little nervous by the king's tone towards her brother, and the threat, she clasped her hands together in front of her. She tensed at his touch but tried to remain calm and nodded "Of course," she replied politely and smiled, still watching him. Her eyes darted to Stefan before back at the king.

Stefan just watched the king as he spoke but said nothing, he wasn't much for interactions, either good or bad. As he touched Audrey he stiffened, watching him closely. He wasn't sure what the king's endgame was, but he was worried his thoughts weren't kind, and Audrey only deserved kind. He remained seated but watched closely, his gaze softened as he caught her's trying to keep her calm knowing she was nervous. Neither of them had interacted closely with the king before, anyone would be nervous.

Luke led her to his parents hotel looking at the ground the entire way

Luke sighed "you don't have to be afraid my dear, there's nothing to be nervous about either" he says in a matter of fact. Luke clicks his tongue dropping his hands, "well i will see you at the ball i guess, make sure you wear something delightful. He smiles, then walks out of the store, he walks back to his horse and gets back on him. Then he rides away.

Starling looks at the man and sighs, wondering why that girl has such an effect on him. She looks at the hotel once they arrive and she gasps "oh my goodness, its beautiful!" she says loudly squealing.

Luke smiled "Thanks it has been in the family for a couple generations anyways i am gonna check you in and then get ready for the ball" he quickly checked her in himself he handed her the keys for her room

Audrey smiled a little as he did and then watched him leave, the nervous feeling fell from her as he parted. The smile stayed for a moment as she wondered if he really was interested in her before she looked back at Stefan and shrugged. She walked back into the dressing room and peeled off the dress she had tried on. Replacing it was a maroon strapless mermaid with a v neckline. She emerged and smiled big “Stef, this is the one I want.” she said as she stared into the mirror.

Stefan watched the king leave and then looked back at Audrey and shrugged in response as well before he went back to scrolling on his phone. As she came back out he smiled a little, she was beautiful and their parents would be so proud of how she turned out. He nodded “Then let’s get that one,” he mumbled and looked back to his phone as he waited for her to be done.
