Petalpool put Leafkit in the nursery. She whispered to Silverfoot, "Off duties for 6 moons, good for you." She felt like Brightstar was happy, even if she still felt like her leader didn't like her. She licked her friends cheek quickly and went to get herbs.

''I think I might miss patrolling a little bit!'' she purred. She watched Petalpool leave, as she set up a new nest for herself and ''her'' kits. The moss here was soft, and warm. She gathered all the kits, and placed them in the nest beside her. The mewled at her, and she realized with a dull thud in her head, ''I don't have any milk...''. She turned to the other nesting queen, Willowtail, and explained her situation. She happily took them beside her own kits, Fogkit and Flashkit. Silverfoot nodded thanks to the queen, and told her she was visiting Petalpool. She hurried out of the nursery, and into the medicine den. ''Petalpool...Tomorrow is the half moon, you must tell Badgerclaw...and this time I can't follow you...''

Petalpool nearly hit her head on the stone wall. "That's right! All right, I'll tell him. I'll tell you how it goes." This is wkrse than having the kits... She thought.

Are you sure? I can come...'' she mewed. What if Badgerclaw tells his leader? What if he does not except he has kits? She felt uneasy leaving her, but she had kits now, and she had to be strong.

Badgerclaw was padding up the muddy slope, with his fellow medicine cat's tailing behind. ''I hope Petalpool does not bring anything up..'' he thought angerierly as his paws reached the big pool, which shone brighter than the moon. He groaned as he lay down, and put his nose in the cool water..

"Badgerclaw, wait!" She hissed quietly. "There's something I need to tell you... It's important.. and you'll probably be upset..." She sat next to him.

He pulled his nose out off the water. ''Really? Right now?'' he moaned. He waited silently for the rest of the cats to fall asleep in the pool. ''What is it? Is this about you and me? Cause if it is, we were a mistake!'' he growled.

"It... It is... Badgerclaw, I..." She leaned in. "I had your kits." She whispered, but it was a bit loud, and she prayed the other medicine cats hadn't heard. For a moment she wished she hadn't even told him.

His face changed from surprised to angry. ''What!'' he quietly growled. ''I told you we we're a mistake! Now, what if my clan found out? I'b be shunned, banned, gone!'' . He saw the other medicine ctas lift their heads, and put their noses back in the water. He saw Petalpool's scared, saddened expression, and his voice changed. ''Ok...What are their names?''
