Cyprus laughed as he looked at Alexander. "I am sure if you needed to make yourself cry Alexander Lee, you can just think of how you are going to be alone all your life." He smirked as he looked at him. He followed him into his room with a huff. "Why did you act that way? It was just your father." He laughed. "No thanks, I'm fine not practicing." He spoke as he flopped back down on Alexander's bed contently.

Alex flopped back onto his bed, letting out a yell into his pillow. ”You are so annoying it is almost unbelievable. I hope you know how close I am to killing you,” he told Cyprus. He then added, ”I don’t like my dad always watching me.” But he switched the topic quickly, not wanting to linger to how things were between him and his father. ”If you’re not gonna do anything, then just go home. If you can’t perform it perfectly tomorrow. I might actually throttle you to death,” he threatened Cyprus, sitting up on his bed.

Cyprus laughed as he looked at him. He continued to enjoy how much anger he could bring out of Alexander. "Alexander Lee, I hope you know how close I am to killing you." He smirked as he looked at him. He stood up and looked at him. "I will be heading home but just know that I may throw our performance tomorrow to anger you." He spoke as he looked at him. "It would ruin both our grades but my father would believe me if I blamed it all on you and your terrible work." He explained as he looked at him.

At Cyprus’ comment, Alex’s eyes widened, and he grabbed Cyprus, slamming his back to the wall. ”One day. Just for one day, stop being a jerk to me and just work with me,” he pleaded, then after thinking about it, he added, “please.” Then he let Cyprus go and shoved him out of his bedroom. He didn’t want to see Cyprus for any longer. He then got back to memorizing his script, going over the motions by himself.

The next day, in class, the teacher asked if anybody was ready to perform that day. Alex raised his hand, and he and Cyprus went up to the front. He gave a small introduction, then began. The gist of the scene was that the girl, named Cynthia, thought that the guy, Jason, was cheating on her, then slapped him as she accused him of various things, then he would try to explain itself and also get mad at her and end up retaliating with a slap. But after the misunderstandings were sorted out, the girl would be crying, then the guy would kiss her, and that was it. Typical cliche tv show stuff. Alex began, yelling, ”I know what you’ve been doing, Jason! I saw you yesterday with Stephanie! We’re over!” He cringed inwardly at how cheesy his lines were, but maintained the look of fury and betrayal on his face.

Cyprus gave him a mischievous smirk as he stood with Alex. He was going to tank this presentation in his own little way and there was nothing Alex could do to stop him. “Cynthia, babe, you need to believe me. Yes I was with Stephanie but we didn’t but do anything. I was asking her about your birthday.” He spoke as he looked at him, playing the part of the defensive boyfriend well.

"Don't lie to me Jason; I've seen your texts and how you've grown distant, and how you spend so much time out at night! I hate you!" Alex exclaimed, and that was when he had to start crying. It came relatively easy to him, and soon he felt tears start to fall. "I thought I would stay with you forever, and that you loved me, but... I guess I was wrong!" He said, proceeding to sob loudly. He then added, starting to rant, "This relationship has just been a bunch of effort on my part. You never do anything for me, you know? You're such a jerk, playing with my feelings like that!" After this was when Cyprus was supposed to say his line, then slap him. He thought about Cyprus' threat the other day, and hoped that Cyprus didn't use his full strength, because Alex hated getting bruises.

Cyprus watched Alexander as they did all of this. He had to admit that they worked well together and had a good chemistry. Alexander was also a good actor with abilities that matched Cyprus. He looked at him and started his next line. "Cynthia! I do everything for this relationship you ungrateful girl!" He yelled down at her. He then slapped her, barely missing his face by an inch, faking the slap perfectly. The temptation to slap him for real lingered but he held off. He needed him to look perfect or else his father would come after to kill him.

Alex feigned surprise at being slapped, and held his cheek, as if in pain. He was surprised that Cyprus hadn't actually slapped him. "You... How dare you accuse me of that?!" He punctuated the sentence with an actual slap. He didn't hit very hard though, but it made a loud noise. It wouldn't hurt Cyprus at all. "I spent hours working on a present for you for your birthday; I put so much thought into all of our dates, and yet you don't appreciate me at all!" He said, "trying" to wipe away tears, but they kept on falling. Alex grew a bit nervous, unsure at how Cyprus would execute the kiss, because that was coming up soon. "I..." Cynthia's anger was beginning to curb and fall away, showing her true vulnerability and sadness. "I love you, yet you... don't even spend time with me or anything, Jason..." Alex mumbled in between sniffles as another wave of tears overwhelmed him. Acting was exhausting.

Cyprus held his cheek and twisted his head as he was slapped. He turned back to Alexander. He looked like he was going to hit her again before he leaned down and kissed Alexander, for real. {If you didn't see this coming. You are lying xD} He pulled away and looked at him, placing his forehead to his to fake the intimacy the two characters they were playing had. "I know I can be a bit of a jerk but I only am so because I don't understand these feelings I have for you, Cynthia." He explained as he looked at him. "I love you too..." He spoke, finishing the scene. He stepped away as the class clapped for them. He didn't speak again, grabbing Alex's hand to bow with him. He grabbed his bag and left the classroom as the bell rang for lunch.

Alex's mind went completely blank when he felt Cyprus' lips on his, and he couldn't register anything except for how close they were. And the whole forehead touching thing after the kiss just made Alex redden even more. After bowing, he couldn't think about anything other than the kiss for a good two minutes after it, and by then everybody else had left the classroom. What had just happened? He rushed to grab his stuff, quickly making his way to lunch, but his mind was still on the kiss. Cyprus, his greatest rival, had just kissed him. Sure, it was for a project and had no real feelings behind it, but still. They had kissed. He had just been kissed. What the heck. His mind kept on replaying the scene, and he couldn't think straight. After he sat down with his food, he spotted Cyprus at a table not too far from him, and thought about the kiss again. He couldn't even look at Cyprus without imagining the kiss and immediately reddening.

He couldn't focus at all through the day, and when the last bell rang, he waited for Cyprus in the courtyard. After he spotted him, he walked over and grabbed Cyprus by the collar. "What was that today?? You had no right to do that! You, you, annoying little brat!" He was struggling to string a sentence together, because he still couldn't get the event out of his head. He was sure that he was blushing, but desperately hoped that Cyprus didn't notice.
