She looked at him for a bit, listening carefully to each word as if they’re was some code that she had to decipher. A guilty feeling suddenly flowed over her. He felt like he owed her and that was why he was helping her. He felt like he owed her for bringing her into the situation when she knew things like this would happen when she left the Camp. That’s just what happened when you were a prisoner, a slave. It wasn’t a surprise to her when Rodgers showed up. It was annoying and agrivating, but she had prepared for things like that. “You don’t owe me anything. I knew that at some point someone would come after me.” She sighed deeply, closing her eyes for a moment and taking in the sounds and smell of the rich earth and the forest around it. It was so peaceful, and she was grateful for that. Luka was still bouncing around but had come over for a moment to check on the two. He licked Rodger’s face and made sure that Charity gave him a good scratch behind the ear before disappearing into the grass again. Her lips slowly formed a smile and she let out the smallest ‘hmph’ of laughter at his words. She shook her head slightly, her hair swaying around her face. “Life gets boring if you follow the rules for too long.” She said, laying back again, watching as a shooting star flew past. The moon glowed brightly, a full moon. The face of the moon seemed to be smiling down on her, watching over the two of them in the meadow and protecting them. “Thanks for... everything.” She said, looking over to him for a moment before closing her eyes. A breeze travelled through the field as a silence fell over the two of them. “At this point, I owe you. After all, I did hit you with a staff and just about let Luka attack you.” She said. Luka heard his name and dutifully bound over. He knocked Steve down before laying on top of him, licking his face happily. Dawn sat up and pulled Luka away from him. “Luka! Leave it!” She said, trying to be commanding while laughing. “I’m sorry for basically wrecking your life. You were just doing your job...”
