xxxthe northsider was certainly a little off put by the crowd of southsiders staring at her.
she felt a little self-conscious with all of the pairs of eyes just burning into her. but she h
ad to remember why she's here. she wanted to get a great story and hopefully get closer t
o this serpent. she giggled a bit at his joke. "pretty similar to the northside then," she snic
kered. "im coming," she said, grinning playfully, following him onward.

he opened the door,
pulling by the rusty handle and gestured her
inside. the place was a bit dusty, but surp
-risingly cosy for a serpent. there was a huge
vintage armchair, two beds and a small, unu
-sually tidy kitchen. truce puckered his lips
a little and whistled. two dogs bolted towards
him and nearly threw him on the floor, flooding
him with doggy kisses. one was a tiny yorkshire
terrier and the other, a massive white mutt. it
resembled a huge, wolf-like german shepherd.
-atta boys!
truce scratched them lovingly behind the ears.
-and this is our guest,
he threw away his jacket and went into the
kitchen.
-make yourself at home, coffee?

xxxophelia walked in behind truce and looked around at the room. it was surprisingly
normal for someone who was in a gang. well, honestly, she didn't really know what she
was expecting. he didn't seem like the type of person who would have bodies under his
floorboard. "nice place you've got here," she said with a smile as she watched him pett
ing the two dogs. she'd never had dogs herself but his were really cute. ophelia appro-
ached the dogs a bit cautiously, just to make sure they were okay with newcomers be-
fore petting both of them and speaking to them in the high-pitch dog most people h-
ave when they talk to animals. "that'd be great," she said, casting her bright smile o-
ver at him.

truce chuckled.
-well i guess i take good care of this place,
he continued making her coffee
-milk?
he had a small radio in the kitchen, so
he switched it on and it started playing
an imagine dragons song.

xxx"just a drop of milk, i like my coffee strong," ophelia said as she walked into the
kitchen and sat down on one of the chairs that was pushed into a small kitchen ta-
ble. she listened to the radio as the strong scent of coffee hit her nose.

truce passed the girl a warm, strong
coffee, just like she asked.
- here you go m’lady,
he sat down opposite her.
- so. could you possibly tell me exactly
how you ended up on the outskirts of
the south side all alone?
he chuckled softly and looked at her
delicate, slightly pale face.
- oh, and how rude of me,
he coughed.
- name’s truce.

xxx"thanks." ophelia picked up the cup and took a sip of the coffee, feeling a bit of
energy shoot through her body as the bitter liquid hit her tongue. "i had just finish-
ed my dinner at pop's and i was on my way home when i decided to take a walk and
i just kind of ended up there," she told him with a sigh. "it's nice to meet you, truc-
e," she said cheekily. "im ophelia, but you can just call me o."

-now, that's an unusual name,
he chuckled a bit at her story.
-well it's pretty hard to just wander
into the south side like that.
you must be pretty talented at
getting lost then,
his own coffee water finished boiling
in the kettle so he poured himself a
cup and mixed the liquid with a tea
spoon.
-pretty decent that i spotted you,
some of my other mates wouldn't
have been so careless with you,
you seriously need to watch out
next time you wander off into the
unknown like that.

xxx"my mom was a bit of a shakespeare nerd, so i guess she thought it was a good idea
to name her daughter after some lady who killed herself in hamlet," ophelia said with
a snicker. she nodded. "well, i guess it's a good thing i always carry pepper spray," she
said with a sigh. "i am a pretty good wonderer, i guess i just need someone to keep me
on track," she said with a sigh. she decided to change the subject a bit. "so how'd you
end up in the serpents?" she asked.

- oh yeah, pepper spray
is so fiesty,
he chuckled a little bit.
- i don't really remember, it was so
long ago. i always admired their
lives, i guess... for how loyal they
are to each other. i just felt and
still feel really comfortable around
them,
he smiled brightly.
- and of course, bike racing and
gang murders are fun too,
he chuckled.
- i'm just joking of course. it's so
funny how northsiders think of
us serpents. and they then are
so shocked that we aren't fond
of them. sure, we can be a
little rough, but isn't everyone?
truce got up and started to wash
some dirty dishes.
