Eira laid in bed, stareing numbly at the wall as her mind drifted. She hoped fade was ok but knew it was best to stay away from him now, for both of their sakes.

Alex had tried to stay out of most of jace's meetings with his friend, not wanting to influence his decision.

Fade was trying to figure out why he suddenly felt better, and why Ricky was still getter better. Had something happened to the deal? Feeling a bit paranoid, Fade went to meet with the demon he had made the deal with, and then later knocked roughly on the door before barging into the house and the bedroom. "What did you do?" he shouted at her, his eyes narrowed.

Jace seemed happy to be there with his friend, and they met a lot to discuss things. He decided he was going to take the job, since if it all worked out, he'd be making more money than he was now. He just needed to take a few courses in the university and he'd be set.

Eira sat up weakly before casting a bored look at fade from she sat, her hair a mess and hiding part if her pale face. "I dont think what i do is any of your business and either way it seems you already know so stop being so dramatic."

Alex sat in the hotel room, waiting for jace to come back. He picked nervously at the fabric on the couch armrest as he looked blankly towards the window. When jace entered he was torn from his thoughts but stayed sitting on the couch, merely watching him. "How did it go? Did you reach a decision?"

Fade growled, lunging forward and pinning her down on the bed. "Don't play games with me, Eira," he snarled. "Why did you change the deal and take my place?"

"It went fine." He went over to him, sitting down beside him. "I'll be taking the job." He smiled a bit as he said that, excited about it.

Eira looked up at him scared but couldnt bring herself to fight back. She couldnt hurt him. "What do you care? This is better for you anyway." She snapped angrily at him. "You have people who need you. You have a family and a girlfriend now. I dont have anyone." She swallowed as her fierceness subsided and was replaced with sadness. "I dont want to live in a world where you dont exist."

Alex forced himself to smile, reminding himself that his job was just to support him. "That's great. So are you moving here or what is the next step?"

Fade's expression softened and he let go of her. "Eira, sweetie," he murmured sadly, pulling her into a hug. "I can't let you die because of me. Please, Eira."

"I'll be staying at my house. I need to take a few classes at the university, and then he'll get me started." He took Alex's hand, lacing their fingers together.

Eira pushed him away before sitting with her back pressed to the headboard and hugging her legs to her chest. "Just leave me alone. I already told you, the deal we made is over so you dont need to keep up your act or whatever. Ive paid you back for everything i owe you so just go back to your perfect little family. I can take care of myself."

Alex nodded but squeezed his hand as his heart dropped a bit. "So in about a year youll be here then?" He knew he didnt have the right to be upset. They had only just started dating again anyways. Support was all he should be showing. "We should start looking for a place you can get while we are here and have the chance. I can find some listings for you. You must be tired."

Fade frowned, hurt, but he backed away from her. He shouldn't be wasting his time here. He need to end this deal. He left, not bothering to explain anything to her. He needed to find a way to fix this...

Jace shook his head. "My work won't be here. Brice only wanted me to come here to meet up. I'll be working near home." He leaned against the back rest of the couch.

Eira recognized the look in his eye but got up and quickly grabbed his arm to stop him. "Dont even think about it. You leave things alone. You need to stop being so emotional and think about others and how this will affect them." She scolded him, keeping a tight grip on his wrist.

Alex smiled a bit more genuinely. "Oh. Thats good."

"I can't let you die because of me," he protested. "It's not fair. You shouldn't have to die for me."

Jace smiled, wrapping his arms around him and pulling him close. "Yeah."
