Lightheart laughed at the exchange. "A real clan huh?" Her voice trailed off as the memories sprang up. She had to skew her eyes shut and shake her head to clear away the ghosts.

"I used to belong to a clan. I have to say there's nothing like clan life. Maybe one day I'll join another." She mused, but her tone hinted that it wouldn't be anytime soon.

Returning to her cheerful demeanor she raised an eyebrow at Nimblestar. "And how can you sort of be a clan?"

"He's just not used to how we run things." Chickenpoppy said playfully, giving Nimblestar an almost smug look.

"I came from another clan." Nimblestar replied, giving Chickenpoppy a look. "It was just pretty different is all. Took me awhile to get used to new ideas."

Lightheart tried to stifle her laughter and nodded. "We'll I'm sure each clan has it's own traditions. It makes sense that there'd be things to adjust to."
"So what makes NocturneClan unique?" She asked curiously, looking at the toms.

"Well, they allow kittypets to join, for one... and I don't mean fully join, like... honorary warriors. They still go live with twolegs." Nimblestar explained. It didn't sound as if it bothered him; it was just one of several things he thought off when joining.

Lightheart blinked. "Wow. That is different. It must be difficult switching between two completely different lifestyle on a daily basis like that. How do they handle it?" The idea was beyond anything Lightheart had ever heard of but it sounded interesting. But the idea of belonging two different lives could mean not fully belonging in either, and that sounded painful to the she-cat.

"Fine." Chickenpoppy said with his usual optimism. "We're often in the city anyways. It's not too difficult, and they keep us in touch with what'sa going on with the other folk around."

"We don't exactly keep to the territory." Nimblestar admitted. "In fact we're here getting some extra fish, when hunting's a little slow we scavenge and collect."

Lightheart raised an eyebrow. "That is certainly different. I've never heard of a clan like yours. It's truly unique." She spoke, a hint of awe in her voice. The idea of a clan with open borders and open membership was something Lightheart had trouble fathoming. But it seemed to work for NocturneClan, and that was all that mattered.

Lightheart realized they'd been walking for a bit. "Just where did you clanmates run off to?"

"Edgewalker said something about meeting with Shadowleap." Chickenpoppy meowed, sniffing the air. A few humans and their kids passed then, and Nimblestar took a few steps back away from them, but these people were used to the strays. They kept going without bothering them, although Chickenpoppy sent a friendly chirp their way.

When they'd past, Chickenpoppy bounded ahead. "They're probably near the bigger stalls! Com'on, let'sa go!"

Lightheart flinched when the two-legs approached but managed to prevent herself from hissing. She hated being so close to them. She had lived her entire life apart from two-legs and this was only the second time she had been in one of their cities. When the two-legs left, she shook her fur out and took a deep breath to steady her nerves. She noticed Nimblestar's reaction and was glad that she wasn't the only cat on edge around the creatures.
She sent a smile to Chickenpoppy, his enthusiasm cheering her slightly. "Alright."

Chickenpoppy flashed them a smile before heading on ahead, carefully slowing a bit when he recalled Lightheart was injured.

"Over there." Nimblestar mewed, motioning his tail towards a group of cats dining on some fish.
