Lightheart smiled softly. "Nice to meet you too. Chickenpoppy's cheerful demeanor was hard to be wary of and Lightheart felt her self relaxing. She glanced at Nimblestar and seeing that he was basically ignoring them, she took a deep breath and moved her leg out so that Chickenpoppy could see it. " It's not pretty but it's healing. I got caught in a fire." She stated, figuring she should give at least some kind of explanation for her injury. Though her tone made it clear she didn't want to speak about it beyond her single statement. The memories were still too raw for the she-cat to even consider opening up about what had happened to her clan.

"Fire?" Chickenpoppy stated in surprise. "We haven't smelled any smoke..." He added as he gently touched her leg, wincing as he noticed how uncomfortable it look. "That has to hurt... I think comfrey would be good for this one. I'd offer some form of painkiller if it hurts a lot, does it?"

"We don't have any poppy seeds." Nimblestar reminded him, perking his ears with interest as he watched. Fire? It made him nervous. "Most of them by now are under the ground, preparing for next spring. I doubt those dried up heads are still there."

"It's been a few days since it happened, and I managed to hitch a ride on one of the two-leg machines." Lightheart explained. "I'd appreciate any help you can give me. It's pretty uncomfortable." She admitted, her ears folded back at the idea of no pain relief. Now that she was actually paying attention to her injury instead of trying to ignore it, the severity of her injury was clear. LIghtheart was honestly surprised that she had managed to get so far on a leg that was so damaged.

"Well I'll see what I can do!" Chickenpoppy said cheerfully, gently removing his paw from her leg. He added aside to Nimblestar. "Maybe try and find the rest of our patrol? We should try and make a detour to the fields, hopefully some poppy seeds might still be there, and I did find comfrey earlier."

Nimblesar sighed, getting up and waving his tail. He was gradually looking less annoyed, however. He felt bad for the cat. "Sure. We shoudl all go together, though, if she can walk there's no point in hanging back."

Lightheart nodded and shuffled to her feet. "I can walk if that saves time. I don't want to slow you guys further down than helping me already will." She explained. She was honestly thankful that these cats were taking the time to tend to her injury. Lightheart knew that she didn't have the medical experience or knowledge to treat it herself besides keeping it dry and clean.

"Thank you for helping me by the way." She stated smiling brightly at both Chickenpoppy and Nimblestar. "I don't believe I've said that yet." Though the amount of pain she was in could excuse her poor manners. Though Lightheart's mother never would have accepted an excuse like that.

Nimblestar waited for them, watching as Chickenpoppy and Lightheart got to their feet. Chickenpoppy watched her carefully, waiting to see her walk to see how it affected her.

"It's no trouble miss! Just doing my job is all!" Chickenpoppy said with a friendly purr, while Nimblestar looked on, giving a nod of your welcome as his only response. His fur as looking less bristled as he came down from the fright he'd had, over thinking over old rogue trouble.

Lightheart smiled again at the toms, a purr rumbling in her throat. She really was grateful to have stumbled upon such friendly cats. Chickenpoppy was such a sweet medicine cat and his cheerful demeanor was contagious. And although Nimblestar had seemed at first to be a rough and rude tom, she seemed to have judged him too quickly. She wasn't sure to make of him just yet but he seemed to be relatively concerned about her injury, as well as less rough in demeanor than she originally believed.

"Alright. Shall we find your other companions and get going?" Lightheart asked, eager to get moving.

"Yup." Chickenpoppy said, turning to Nimblestar. "Lead the way, maestro."

Nimblestar gave him a slight shove as he headed forwards, leading them out of the alley.

Lightheart chuckled and followed the two toms. Her leg was giving her a little trouble but not enough to make their pace uncomfortable.

"So, do you guys belong to a clan of sorts?" She asked curiously, wanting to know more about the cats in the area.
"I remember you referring to yourself as basically a medicine cat." Lightheart mentioned to Chickenpoppy.

"Of sorts." Nimblestar said, almost jokingly.

"Lay off! We're a real clan." Chickenpoppy responded with a slight roll of his eyes. Looking back to Lightheart he added. "We're NocturneClan- live just a couple of minutes away in the pine forest, in fact. We come here every so often to get some extra food."
