She held her blush when he praised her like that and hummed softly. "I love you" she murmured quietly as she was rather comfortable and cozy against him. Her eyes soon grew heavy and she fell asleep. Her breathing calmed and her body completely relaxed which sort of made her a bit heavier due to gravity. Nuzzled right into him.

“ I love you too, darling~” Toby murmured, smiling softly down at May as she drifted to sleep in his arms. To him, she was the most beautiful woman he had ever seen; even when she was asleep, May looked more attractive than a goddess to him. With a soft smile, Toby kissed May’s head gently, careful not to wake her. “ How did someone as perfect as you ever fall for a scruffy werewolf like me~?” He cooed softly, giving a rumbling chuckle. Humming a gentle, soothing melody, Toby continued along the small path with May securely in his arms. He carried her easily and was careful not to disturb her rest as he walked.

Maybelle seemed to have smiled in her sleep from the kiss to her head and didn't stir much. Just looking pleased and feeling safe. The tune kept her asleep for a majority of the trip really. By the time they even neared his friends home she finally began to stir a bit and yawned hard enough that her body trembled. She moved her hands to rub at her face a bit and then looked up at Toby. "Hmmm" she murmured.

Noticing May beginning to stir, Toby smiled down at her with that same fond look in his eyes. “ Sleep well, pumpkin~?” He asked, gently shifting her to one arm. Toby didn’t seem to have much trouble carrying her, even though he had been carrying her for such a long time. He was much stronger than most human guys, partly because of his werewolf genes and partly because he had worked on a farm for over a decade. With a soft smile, Toby gently brushed a loose strand of hair from May’s face, peering down at her sleepy face as if she were the only girl in the world that mattered to him. Though, a slight rustle of leaves just a bit away made him tense just a bit. His wolf ears pricked up as he tried to pick up the barely audible sounds in the forest. Suddenly a tall, regal-looking stag stepped out of the underbrush with what appeared to be a crow on it’s back. Toby let out a relieved sigh, “ It’s only you!” The stag looked indignant, “ Only me?” It huffed in mock annoyance, “ Hmpf! I’ll have you know that I am the only-” The stag continued as it began to half-shift into a tall, thin young man with tanned skin. He still had his antlers and soft, spotted deer ears and from the waist down, he kept his hoofed deer legs, which where half-hidden by his colorful tunic. The young man put his hands on hips, and looked over May and toby with a sunny smile. “ Well I’ll be! Who’s this, Tobes? Is she a werewolf?!” He said, looking over May delightedly, “ You got a girlfriend? Ha! You ol’ charmer!” The man teased playfully, before smacking himself in the forehead,” Merlin’s beard! Wait til’ Poppy hears about this!! Unless she already knows…? Ha! I betcha even she couldn't predict this!” The young man rambled happily, bouncing around gracefully on his hoofed legs.

May smiled a sleepy smile and nodded a little. Feeling like a little child being coddled when she was moved to just one of his arms. Her arms instinctively wrapped about him to hold onto him, making his load a little easier no matter how strong he was. She seemed to lean into his hand as he brushed a strand away from her face and hummed a moment. "I slept like a rock" she admitted and noticed his ears perk up which of course made her perk up a little and rid of her sleepy state. Her eyes landed to the stag and her mouth formed an 'o' shape. Especially when he shifted. Her eyes trailed over the new person curiously and seemed to light up. "Oh. you're like... ahhh what are those called? Anyways cool" she hummed with a small smile that was a bit shy if you knew her well enough. "Not a werewolf. Nothing special. Just a human who seems to have a knack for the supernatural and secrets....and I'm Maybelle" she introduced herself with a small laugh since the man seemed to ramble a bit. She found it almost reassuring and smiled a bit more warmly and glanced up at Toby before tilting her head.

Toby held May close to his chest comfortably, noticing her shy smile. “ May, this is Gilbert. He’s a cervitaur shapeshifter and probably the most annoying one you’ll ever meet” He said, playfully teasing the excitable young man. Gilbert gave a little huff, pretending to look annoyed and failing miserably. “ Don’t you believe a word this scruffy pup says, ma’am!” Gilbert laughed, jutting a thumb at Toby, “ He’s just jealous he doesn't have my rugged good looks and sharp wit!” The thin young man flexed his nearly non-existent muscles jokingly before breaking into a fit of laughter. Toby rolled his eyes, but couldn't help but chuckling a bit, “ Gilly, we’re not here to admire your looks” He said with a shake of his head, “ What we really are-” Gil cut Toby off with a shushing sound. “ You both are gonna be our guests! Poppy said that we’d have guests over and I bet she’s already got everything you’re gonna need laid out for you. Food, water, clothes, whatever you need! C’mon! Just follow me” Gilbert said excitedly before prancing off down a small path at a pace Toby could keep up with. “ I’m sure everybody’s gonna want to hear about everything! Tobes, it’s been so long since you’ve come for a visit!” The young cervitaur rambled on excitedly, “ And I know everybody’s gonna love you, Miss Maybelle!”

May seemed to smile and lightly nod in greeting to the man known as Gilbert. "Nice to meet you" she hummed kindly before laughing a bit. "Scruffy pup? hmmm i may use that" she teased Toby lightly as well and merely shrugged. "I mean you have looks. easy on the eyes so to speak" she added to Gilbert trying to go ahead and show off a little playfully. Finding him amusing and humorous. "Really? you think so?" she asked curiously and with a happy smile as she leaned back into Toby comfortably and rested her hand over her calmed down wound. "This sounds like a huge group of you almost? Is it just you and Poppy?" she asked Gilbert kindly and curiously. Not minding his rambling in the slightest and finding it a rather nice trait for such a being.

(( lol I love a lot of mythical creatures too! XD I was going to make Gilly and his friends werewolves, but I changed my mind last minute! <3 And if you want to use your girl centaur girl, that’d be great too!! ))

Toby chuckled softly and looked to May with a fond little smile. “ I’m your scruffy pup, darling~” He teased playfully, kissing her face all over. It was obvious he didn't mind showering her with affection even when other people were around. And Gilly certainly didn't mind- or really wasn't paying attention.

“ It’s nice to meet ya, too!” Gilbert said cheerily, looking back at May with a cheery smile. Judging from his friendly personality and talkativeness, he definitely loved meeting new people like May. Gilly gracefully hopped around the path as he chatted, glancing back every once in a while to make sure they were keeping up with his long-legged gait. “Ha! Thank you, Miss Maybelle. Finally someone can appreciate my good looks!” Gilly beamed crookedly, flexing his muscles and playfully showing off his sizeable antlers before falling into a fit of laughter. Once he had control of himself again, he grinned at May sunnily before answering her questions. “ A big group? Nah, nah!” He explained cheerfully, “ There’s not too many of us around the cottage anymore. There’s Poppy, Eden, the kids and me of course, but there’s other folks like us that hang around. Far as I know, there’s still a couple of siren’s hanging around the waterfall." He said thoughtfully, " Most folks don’t stay for long, usually just a day or two, but some folks like Eden and me have hung around since as long as anyone can remember.” He explained cheerfully.

May liked his tease but again with the kisses! She squealed softly and giggled as she tried to fight off his shower of affection. Lightly embarrassed by such an act and trying to listen to Gilbert as he spoke. She sort of paused her fending off Toby as she listened in awe. "Wait there are that many different beings? I thought they were all myths and legends." she said and her eyes lit up light a Christmas tree. It was a humans dream to see a werewolf but the possibility of all these mythical creatures had her extatic. She seemed overly excited and looked to Toby. "How come you never told me? Is that why the Forrest was dangerous?" she asked curiously.

(( I’m so glad you like it!! I was a little afraid of adding in more mythical creatures, but I figured that since Gilly is basically a limited shapeshifter, it was sort of like a werewolf? Lol Idk! I just wanted something that was just a little different than just a regular werewolf XD ))

Toby chuckled softly at May’s adorable little squeal. It made his chest feeling warm and fuzzy to see her looking so happy. Though, he noticed her light embarrassment and dialed back his little affectionate kisses. With a soft hum, he held May close to his chest and walked just a few paces behind the rambunctious Gilbert with Duke just as his heels.

Gilly seemed quite shocked that May didn’t know that there were other beings in the forest. “ What?!” He exclaimed, stopping for a moment to look at May with a surprised look, " Of course there's other folks like Tobes and me out there! Myths and legends- pah! " He explained with a warm laugh " Most of the human's stories are based on real folks like us! Mermaids, griffins, fairies, you name it! Though, most of the time you humans get half the stuff about us wrong. No offence!" He added, not wanting to offend May.
Toby nodded in agreement with Gilly, giving a warm chuckle, " You're right, human's do have a lot of misconceptions about people like us. I mean, just look at all the werewolf films out there! Do I look like the kind of guy who would want to go around terrorizing people?" He teased, wiggling his cute littlewolf ears at May. As she beamed up at him excitedly, Toby looked down at her with an amused little smile, " I thought you knew there were other beings out there, June bug. And it never really came up in conversation" He said honestly, giving a warm chuckle. His smile flickered just a tiny bit as she mentioned how dangerous the forest was, " Yeah, that's partly why this part of the forest is so dangerous around here. There's a lot of folks with magic and powerful beings around here and not all of them are friendly." He explained carefully
