She giggled softly at the kisses still placed to her head and she had big eyes looking at him. "I really will get stitches? I hate needles" she whimpered a little. "They just are like fangs and that's terrifying...cant there be something else? Toby? Some other way to sew it shut? I trust you" she said seriously and yet now she was nervous. She wasn't exactly scared of needles like thread and needle but to make the area numb would just set her off. Those needles were bigger and scarier.

" I don't know if you'll need stitches or not, pumpkin" Toby said quietly, cupping his hand to her cheek gently, " There's other ways to help heal bad cuts like yours. I'm sure you won't have to get stitches if you don't want to get them." He assured her gently. Toby gently pressed a kiss to May's forehead, looking down at her fondly. He didn't want her to be nervous or upset, so he did his best to try to calm her down and easy her fears.

Maybelle listened to him and nodded a little anxiously still. "Okay. I trust you" she said softly and leaned into the kiss. "Thank you" she murmured again. Nuzzling into him a bit and letting out a small breath.

" You're welcome, June bug~" Toby said, smiling softly down at her as she nuzzled into him a bit. Just a few yards away from them, there was a loud crash as the cabin began collapsing in on itself. Toby flinched a bit and shielded May instinctively in case there were any stray embers or bits of debris from the fire in the air. " I think we should probably start heading back to town so we can get you a doctor.... there's not much use staying around here until the fire burns itself out. " He murmured quietly before looking around for Duke. The poor dog was hiding from the fire, cowering behind the chicken coop.

Maybelle heard the crash and flinched as well before whimpering as she knew it was the home and curled a little into him a bit. "Yes...to town. I guess my little apartment can hold us over for a while still. Even with Claude about its somewhere to stay" she pointed out a bit and ooked to the direction of Duke as well and frowned calling for him. "Duke. C'mere boy... It's okay" she cooed and held her hand out hoping he would come to them.

Toby smiled a tiny bit, though there was a slight sadness in his eyes. He was going to desperately miss living up in the mountains. Though, he knew there was no other option besides living in May's little apartment. And as long as he was with May, he'd be content to live anywhere in the world. Toby smiled a little more, brushing a bit of hair away from her adorably freckled face, " It'll be okay, pumpkin. Things'll get straightened out eventually, I just know it." His heart still feeling a bit heavy, he looked over to Duke and whistled a bit for his beloved mutt. " Duke! Here boy~" He called, but the poor pup was so frightened that he just inched towards them a bit and whimpered. Toby smiled a tiny bit, cooing in a soothing tone, " C'mon boy~ Do you want some ham~?" Duke's ears perked up at the word 'ham' and he hesitantly padded over to the couple, nuzzling them both and giving them slobbery kisses. " You're such a good boy, aren't you?" Toby chuckled softly, petting Duke's head with one hand as he still gently held May close to him.

May could sense Toby's sadness and felt guilty still and bit her lip a bit roughly. "I know" she said softly and looked to Duke when he finally came over. Lightly laughing at the licks she ruffled his fur a bit and kissed his head gently. "Good boy." she praised the mutt happily and then glanced to Toby. "We don't have to leave the woods do we? I mean... Maybe...you spoke of a pack. Your old pack right? Could we get their help? Aren't vampires and werewolves enemies anyhow?" she asked him just curious in general.

Duke wagged his tail happily, giving a happy bark from the praises he was given. He plopped down happily beside Toby and May, letting them pet his soft, fluffy fur. Toby bit his lip as May mentioned his old pack, " I... I don't think that's such a good idea. Most werewolves don't really care for humans. It wouldn't be safe, especially for you" Very gently, he stroked her cheek and offered her a small smile, " Though... I might know of a few old friends that might let us stay with them. They don't have anything against humans, but they can be a bit-" He hesitated, unsure exactly the word he was looking for, "- overwhelming"

May kept petting and cooing at Duke. Even going as far as pulling him closer for kisses and pets. Careful not to pull open the wound much farther though. "Ah" she said slowly and leaned into his hand happily as he stroked her cheek. "Overwhelming? Well...if you think it's an idea that could work for you then I'm more than ready to meet them. It could very well be a protection from Claude for a while. Until I heal at least" she suggested.

" It's an option at least. Gil still owes me for getting that kettle off his hoof the last time he tried to shapeshift." Toby said with a soft chuckle, " I don't know how you'll feel about staying with them though. They're fairly harmless, but they like to use a lot of magic- not all of which turns out well" He said, rubbing the back of his neck sheepishly. Toby bit his lip, worried that May wouldn't be comfortable around so much chaotic magic, after all, she still was a human. Though, May was unlike any other human he had ever met before. If anybody could handle a bunch of misfit magical creatures, she could. Toby smiled and kissed her cheek softly, " If you sure you wouldn't mind enchanted teapots and magic spells, I think we'd be okay staying there for a bit until you're healed." He said, looking down at her fondly, " Though, if you want to stay back in the city in your apartment, that'll be just as great too. I'm happy as long as we're together and you can be healed."
