May smiled lightly in acceptance of his little apology. "It's fine" she reassured him and as lowered into the water she let out a small breath as if the cold was painful at first but as she was eased in she got used to the cool feeling and her warmth seeped away. "I feel so weird" she grumbled almost bitterly and moved a tad to sink into the water more, looking at her hands with a little frown. "I still feel...dead" she sighed and shook her head a tad before looking at Toby. She hesitated for a few moments but splashed him lightly but still got him rather wet, earning a smile from her.

Toby stayed near May's side, making sure that she was safe and sound. He may have seemed a tad overprotective, but with everything that had happened, he didn't want to take any chances that May might get hurt again. As she mentioned still feeling dead, Toby was about to reply, but only got soaking wet. " Heey!" He protested good-naturedly before breaking into a fit of laughter. Playfully, he shook some of the water off himself like a dog before splashing May back and ducking away so he wouldn't get wet again.

A quiet presence watched the couple from a few yards away, hiding herself under the water. Watching the two of the play, the odd, almost invisible presence seemed to smile just a tiny bit. Silently, she snuck over to Toby and splashed him with before ducking back under the water. A strange, watery giggle could be heard as the invisible creature popped up behind May.

Maybelle was glad she covered her momentary weakness with the splash and laughed at her soaked pup. Her eyes widened as he shook himself and she got wet just from that...but then his splash had her soaked and she squeaked. pulling the strands of her wet hair away from her face and narrowing her eyes. She was about to protest before hearing a giggle behind her, causing her skin to show off goosebumps and a soft squeak. Jumping even when in water from being startled, turning to hopefully see what the cause of the giggle was instead of trying to tackle Toby with more water. "Ah?" she softly questioned and moved behind Toby hurriedly in a shy manner less than afraid.

With a warm laugh, Toby splashed May back mischievously until he heard the strange giggle. Carefully, he moved infront of May protectively and looked around for where the sound came from. Much to his surprise, he saw the creature and vaguely recognized what they might be. " Looks like a water sprite or maybe a river nymph. They're both quite shy" He murmured, not wanting to startle the creature any more," Neither are very fond of men..."

The invisible presence let out a fearful squeak as May frightened her and dove back into the water quickly. After a few moments, she poked her head out of the water, letting just her eyes and the top of her head be seen. The creature obviously wasn't human, in fact she seemed to be almost apart of the gentle creek. It was hard to tell exactly what her body and face looked like since she hid herself, but none of her visible features were remotely human-like outside of the long, midnight blue-black hair that covered most of her face.

“Oh” she whispered softly when Toby confirmed it wasn’t much a threat and smiled at him. Relaxing from her startled state. “Huh. Not fond of men? That’s weird but okay” She hummed in understanding and seeing as the head resurfaced again Maybelle carefully moved away from Toby and slowly towards the river nymph with a curious tilt of her head and small smile. “Hello! Sorry...you scared me” she softly giggled and lowered herself into the water a bit more but gave the nymph some distance. “Or we scared each other...I’m Maybelle!” She chimed trying to seem rather welcoming to the creature she had never truly seen let alone seen before.

Toby held back a little so that he wouldn't frighten the nymph. He kept an eye on the shy creature, though he wasn't too worried that she was going to attack. Though they didn't like men, river nymphs were mostly peaceful creatures and many even had a fondness for pregnant women and children.

The river nymph stayed mostly hidden under the water, peeking out from her curtain of wet hair. As May spoke to her and seemed friendly, the shy nymph let out a happy trilling noise. " M-maybelle" She said, touching her hand to her chest. " Name... is.. Nyx!" With a happy burbling sound, Nyx revealed her self a little more to May shyly, flashing her a friendly smile.

Maybelle watched over the Nymph curiously and at the little noise she internally spooked but her posture never changed from a calm one, nor did her expression. "Nyx? Hm that's a cute little name" she cooed with a smile too. "Nyx you are rather lovely" she complimented sweetly and tried moving a little closer curiously and tilting her head slightly. "You like to surprise people and splash them?" she asked with a smile. "Cause if you could help me get Toby looking like a wet dog that would be awesome. It'll just prove he needs a haircut still" she mused.

Nyx blushed from May's compliment and shyly played with a stray lock of hair. " Beautiful" She trilled happily, very gently giving May's cheek a gentle poke. The nymph's long, lean fingers were strangely cold and damp from the chilly river water. In her own way, Nyx was rather lovely with her deep ebony colored eyes and long dark hair. As May suggested that she splash Toby, the young nymph's eyes sparkled with pure impish delight as she nodded happily. Giving a bubbly giggle, she snuck up behind Toby and splashed him playfully, getting him soaked.

" Heey!" Toby protested good naturedly as Nyx splashed him, giving a warm laugh. It was obvious he was enjoying the harmless, playful fun as he laughed and splashed the girls back.

Maybelle smiled d from the cold poke and giggled as well. Loving the presence of the water sprite and how beautiful she really was. Watching as she went and splashed Toby, earning a loud laugh from Maybelle with her hand on her stomach as she was laughing so hard. "Good job Nyx!" she cooed in pure approval and pure delight.

Nyx gave a happy burbling sound from May's praises, her cheeks flushing just a tiny bit pink. Happily, the young water sprite giggled as she ducked under the water and swam back over to May to admire her work.

Toby pretended to pout from being soaked with water, though he couldn't hide his crooked grin for long. " I think you two need a little cooling off too!" He laughed mischevious, shaking himself like a dog just to spray a bit of water on May and Nyx. Nyx gave a bubbly laugh, her eyes shining delightedly. " Naughty woof!" She giggled, splashing Toby right back.
