May softly whimpered from his hold knowing how he felt and it broke her just a bit. Watching his tears roll down his face in such a way. "I am sorry. Let it happen" she said gently and gave him a little smile back and gently moved and kissed at his tears to rid of them. "I love you. I won't leave so soon again I promise" she whispered and held onto him. Trying to give all of her to him at this very moment. "I love, love, love, love you. I don't care about the stupid promise. You are amazing and did what you had to to protect" she noted to him and nuzzled him as much as she could possibly muster. Curling up into him and leaning into his protective hold.

The small fox watched and carefully moved over to the two. "Ah." he said and tried to get a little sniff of Maybelle without getting Toby to attack. "She needs to change. She still smells of her blood. Maybe bathe her within the river or at least cool her that way" the fox noted and fluffed up his tail.

"It'll be okay, darling" Toby murmured softly, mustering up a tiny smile as May kissed away his tears. " I love you too, May. You really are my everything. I gave you my heart and sould when I fell in love with you, darling." He murmured softly, kissing her temple lightly," To lose you would be to lose my better half. " Very gently, Toby stroked May's beautiful hair in an attempt to comfort her as she nuzzled into him. " Darling, you really were the amazing one, not me" He said, offering her a small smile," I just helped a little by finishing the job." Toby nuzzled May gently before looking up and remembering the two others in the clearing. " The river?" He repeated before giving a small nod, " Alright."

Adrian pretended to look disinterested in the entire conversation, fixing up his robes. He actually liked May quite a bit since she had been so kind to him, but he didn't want to show it.

Maybelle smiled at his overt cgushy way of things and wanted him to feel better. Holding and nuzzling him. "You're so...cheesy." she commented and tried to do a little laugh but she did ache. Her body did feel like it was in fire even if she looked fine. Finding at least comfort from Toby caressing her hair in such a way and a nod with a smile at his words. Deciding to not fight him, but she did pout. "But the water will be cold" she whined softly. Looking to the fox for the first time and recognition kinda washed over her. "You" she commented and the fox tensed a bit and lowered his head. May stayed holding into Toby but used her free hand to gently pet the foxes head. "Thank you" she commented softly as her eyes then moved to Adrian and she nuzzled Toby a bit. "Thank yiu Adrian" she added truly glad they somehow fixed this. Her. Glad that Adrian did what he did so Toby didn't forget her yet. She would have been broken if she turned out to live for Toby to move in without her, as selfish as she felt thinking that.

" I can't but be a little cheesy when I'm around you, pumpkin~" Toby murmured, a small smile tugging at his lips as he looked down at her. Very gently, he pressed a soft kiss her forehead before cradling her in his arms and standing up. " C'mon, darling, let's get you cooled off, hm?" He said, wiggling his ears a bit at May in hopes of getting her to smile a little. Toby knew how much she loved to play with his fuzzy little wolf ears. Almost forgetting about everyone but May, the young werewolf began heading for the nearest stream, guided by the scent of clean mountain water.

Adrian couldn't help but smile a little as May thanked him. " It was the least I could do for you, madam" He said, giving a little bow out of respect.

May blushed lightly from the bow of respect from Adrian and gave him a little nod and smile. Though she gave her attention to Toby as he seemed to be needing it right now. "Okay" she agreed with a hum and moved her hands up to his ears. Smiling and softly giggling. "Wolfy ears~" she chimed gently and choldishly as she played with them. Not minding being carried in such a way and especially to go and get wet, though she really wasn't looking forward to it at all. Maybelle leaned into him and lightly moved her hands to play with his shirt instead. "I want to go home Toby" she murmured honestly and almost sadly but she knew there was much to do still.

Toby's chest grew a bit warmer as May played with his fuzzy little wolf ears. With a soft 'murr' sound, the young werewolf nuzzled into her a little more as he carried her through the forest. " I do too, darling. We've been away from home for too long." Toby murmured in agreement, " I miss having our cabin and little garden." Toby couldn't help but reminisce for a moment about the cabin he had built all those years ago; his home and everything he had ever owned had been destroyed in minutes before his eyes. All of his herbal remedies, all of his precious photographs and journals, all of those stupid little lace dollies he had made when he was bored- everything had been reduced to ashes, except the single photograph he had kept of his late wife. Toby had meant to throw it out or burn it perhaps, but he couldn't seem to bring himself to do it. Even though he loved May with all of his heart and soul, some small part of him didn't want to forget Gloria. Toby buried his face into May's neck, pushing away the thought of his late wife as May's familiar feminine scent filled his senses and calmed him back down. " I love you, June bug~" He murmured softly, pressing a gentle kiss to her cheek.

Maybelle nodded slightly at his words when he agreed to missing home. But it clued in that home to him was different than home to her and she frowned slightly to herself. Clinging to him a bit worriedly and yet his nuzzle and I love you sort of eased her momentary sadness. "I love you too Toby. So very much" she told him honestly and curled into him as much as she could while being carried. Feeling like a small child and loving it but hating it all at the same time.

Toby's spirits lifted even more as May told him that she loved him. Nothing else in the world could make him feel better than May's gentle affectionate gestures and her saying ' I love you.' to him. Very gently, he kissed her forehead fondly before pulling away a bit so he could look around. The sound of a calm, bubbling stream could be heard close by, though it seemed to be hidden by that thick forest. Toby carefully made his way closer to the stream until he inadvertently stumbled into the water, sinking waist deep into the stream. The young werewolf let out a yelp, but quickly righted himself and never let go of May for a moment, keeping her close to his chest protectively. " Aha.. that was deeper than I had expected" He blushed, offering May a sheepish smile.

May leaned into the kiss to her head in a way of comfort and reassurance. Listening to the water as her eyes closed lazily with the warmth seeping from her kinda hitting her at this point, making her uncomfortable in many ways. The stumble made her eyes open quickly and her grip on him to tighten. He could probably hear her heart thrumming against her ribcage in fear for a moment. Being so easily startled hadn't changed in the slightest for the poor woman. "Ah. Seems so" she murmured with a small blush as well for being so startled as well. Her grip loosened slightly and her mixed eyes gazed at him a moment. "Just... plop me in. I'm dying its too hot" she softly complained and squirmed to prove her discomfort but surely the sweat would have aided to that to such an extent.

Toby hugged May gently, hoping to reassure her a little as he apologized for frightening her. " I'm sorry, pumpkin. I guess I wasn't paying attention to where I was going" He said, kissing her temple lightly. Once May asked him to put her in the water, Toby carefully lowered her into the stream. The water was pleasantly cool and not freezing.
