The fox nodded slightly before flinching and hurriedly scampering out of range of the wolf. Knowing things could go sideways very quickly for him if he was recognized too soon. "She isn't human Toby. She never was, a spell had been cast on her to protect her in a way but...seems it didn't go too well." he noted and looked at Adrian cautiously. "Sleeping? She's dead? Why does he think this?" he asked warily.

Adrian looked down at the little fox sheepishly, rubbing the back of his neck." Before May died, I promised her that I would keep Toby happy by making him forget about what happened. I couldn't completely erase the memory of her, so I altered his memory a bit to make him think that she's asleep and made him feel happy." He explained quietly. " But, that's of little importance right now. The important thing is that we bring back May. " Once again, he tried taking May's limp body from Toby, but the young werewolf stubbornly wouldn't let her go.

Toby seemed to be growing more distraught as Adrian and the little wolf spoke of May being dead and somehow not human. Deep down, he had a subconscious feeling that told him they were right, but thanks to Adrian's magic, he refused to believe it. " That's ridiculous!" He huffed, his wolf ear twitching in annoyance," I know my wife is alive and she is definitely human. She told me herself that she was! "

The fox sighed and shook his head a little. "You both are idiots" he grumbled and flicked his tail side to side as he looked at Toby dead in the eyes. "Check her heartbeat Toby. She's still dead. She needs to be laid down on the earth, you have to let her go or she won't come back to you. She won't wake up or live if you keep doing this" he scolded and paced about. "And if she was human this wouldn't be working. The vampire said she had a secret no? Maybe this is it"

" Well, I'm sorry for my idiotic actions, I was only trying to help. I'm not good at being a good person yet" Adrian snapped, more sharply than he had intended. He was trying his best to help, though it seemed that his good efforts had backfired.

Toby listened quietly to the little fox and hesitantly decided to check May's pulse just in case. Much to his surprise, he didn't feel her heartbeat at all. Toby went completely numb as he realized that the little fox was right- his beloved May was dead. " No.. she can't be.." He protested, though he knew that it was true. Quietly, Toby rested May on the soft grass and knelt beside her worriedly. He had no memory of the fight with Claude and everything that had happened, but he knew that May was dead and that it was possible that she wasn't human. Things were slowly becoming a bit clearer as he began to figure out that Adrian had used his magic on him. " You used that hocus-pocus on me and messed with my mind, didn't you?" Toby huffed angrily, glaring at Adrian before looking back to May's lifeless face. In all honesty, he was too worried about May to be angry at the silver-eyed man.

The fox lazily looked at Adrian. "It's fine you did half of what may asked" he told him and shook his head. The emotions were running high with the two guys and it was making his fur stand on end. "It is possible and yes he did but just let it alone" he snapped at the two as his eyes watched May.

May couldn't feel much at first. She felt as if she were on clouds and just so out of it. Slowly she became more conscious of the sound of her heartbeat as her real body was getting its heartbeat back. The earth had aided her how it needed with no touch from anyone. It took seconds and her eyes opened, a gasp for breath came from her before tears poured down her cheeks and her breath was raspy. A painful whimper and soft scream enveloped her until she realized it came from her, her body curling up in pain.

" I did my best!" Adrian huffed, crossing his arms over his chest, " Besides, it's none of your d*mn business what I promised Miss Maybelle." He obviously didn't like being snapped at by the little fox anymore than Toby did.

Toby growled at the little fox, annoyed by the smaller creature and angry at Adrian for messing with his head. Though, all his fears came rushing back as he heard May cry out in pain. " May!" He exclaimed fearfully, kneeling by her, though he was too afraid to touch her. He didn't know how to help her; all he could do was stay helplessly by her side, his chest aching with an unbearable pain to see her suffering so much.

The fox rolled his eyes but at the scream his fur fluffed up in all directions. Making the poor little guy look like a kids stuffed animal as his dark brown eyes wandered over Maybelle. It took him a mere moment to kneel himself down in a submissive manner and have his ears lowered ever so slightly and neck exposed towards Toby and May in such a form of submission. Which was sudden and slightly odd but nevertheless he did it without question as Mays scream eased into nothing. Her body still wreathing a little in pain as her hand clutched to her chest where her heart would be. In her mind she wished she was able to rip it out of her ribcage and crush it to end the pain but that wouldn't help. Slowly the aching pain turned into a numbing throb and her breathing mellowed ever so slightly but heat still radiated over her. "Shes alive once more. Welcome Maybelle to the land of the fae and forest" the little fox murmured slowly. May furrowed her brow in confusion and ignored the fox and pretty much everyone and thing around her...except Toby. She moved her eyes up to him and her familiar eyes had sort of split. One eye was a deep familiar brown but the other was a pretty blue with some brown remaining. A little whimper left her lips as she took another breath and small tears rolled down her cheeks, falling onto the cool earth below her head and making small flowers form, not just any flower though...one not native to where they were...a forget me not. She had cried and caused a specific flower to form from her grief for Toby. She had been so scared to leave him, thinking she was going to die and be gone for good. Heck she believed it. "I-I'm so sorry. Im so...so so....sorry" she cried to him and was scared to touch him. Maybe he wasn't even real. It could have been a cruel nightmare that her mind was playing on her for dying.

It shattered Toby's already fragile heart to see his beloved May cry from the agony of her 'transformation'. He wanted so desperately to help ease her pain, but there was nothing he could do. As May began to weep and apologize, the young werewolf couldn't stand being apart from her for a moment longer. " Shh, shh darling, It's okay~" Toby murmured gently, wrapping his arms around May in an cozy embrace. Hot, uncontrollable tear ran down his cheeks as he hugged her with the utmost care," Darling, you have nothing to be sorry for" He murmured, littering her face with slightly damp kisses," I'm the one to blame. May, I'm so sorry I couldn't protect you. I tried, but I was too slow.. And I... broke my promise not to interfere. I'm so sorry darling" He said miserably, his voice thick with tears," B-but, I didn't let my wolf take over a-and I killed Claude. You won't have to worry about him ever bothering you again."

Maybelle hiccupped a few little sobs as he so easily and familiarily wrapped his arms around her in such a way. Her hands tightly gripped his shirt as they trembled. Her cold tears felt like nothing compared to feeling Toby's burning hot ones. It startled her at first and guilt riddled her body like an old memory. She made him feel this way. She was the one who died and made him weak. She made him kill Claude. Everything. And it weighed her chest down like it was an anchor in the vast, miserably calm sea. "I do" she murmured softly. "I have to be sorry for everything." she whimpered and closed her eyes a moment as she listened to his voice and it sent her over the edge. She had hurt him this way. Made a stupid promise. Her hands moved up his chest and around his neck to pull him into a tight embrace. Not caring if it crushed the air out of her lungs and made her insides feel sick. "It's okay..." she whispered to him. "You did nothing wrong. Nothing. It's all my fault Tobias" she told him softly, sadly and almost in distaste towards herself. "I'm hurting you so much. I should have never made it this complicated...my love...my Wolfy I'm so so sorry"

Toby held May close to his chest, wrapping his arms around her in an almost protective embrace. There was something about him that seemed almost desperate, as if he was terrified that his beloved May was going to be snatched from him again. He didn't move to wipe away the tears ran down his scruffy cheeks for fear that he would lose his precious wife if he let her go. Part of him still believed that seeing May like this once again was some sort of cruel dream. Toby held her close (but not tight enough to hurt her), burying his face into her neck. Her familiar feminine scent warmed his chest just a bit and a faint hint of relief washed over him. Very gently, Toby moved his hand to brush May's lovely red hair from her face, " Darling... you don't have to be sorry. None of this was your fault" He murmured softly, " It's alright now... you're safe here and that's all that matters." Toby leaned down and kissed May's forehead sweetly, offering her a small smile. " I know you would never hurt me on purpose, darling. You don't ever have to be sorry for hurting me"
