"I could always carry you for a while, too. You aren't heavy," he said sheepishly.

"We probably shouldn't take the roads. I know that will make it harder, but Tiny isn't getting any smaller, and he is going to start attracting attention on the road. You're right though. A good nights sleep will do everyone good, but we should probably leave early. We have a good bit of ground to cover to get to the coast."

The next morning, Seraphine was the first awake due to inability to really fall asleep. All of the ominous talk about not being able to stay in the same place for too long had her on edge. How long was too long? She didn't want to find out.

She quickly stood up and began waking up the others.

Basil had managed to dose off, but the sound of movement made him raise his head. For a moment, he stared ahead of him, a confused look on his face. He rubbed his eyes, thinking that his vision was blurry for being tired. Ahead of him, sticking out from under Phleg's blanket was a foot. A human foot. "No..." he said under his breath in disbelief. Leaning closer he looked over to Seraphine, then back at Phleg. Grabbing the leg, he shook it, "Phleg, get up."

The leg drew itself back, the sleeping lump groaning a bit. After a moment, Phleg sat up. For a moment he just sat there with a drowsy expression, then frowned. "Why does everything look so weird?"

Basil's expression was a mix of surprise and amusement. "Tiny, you have feet."

"So do you?" he said confused.

"You look like a human, you have human feet, and head, he said, gesturing. Phleg touched his head, realizing that he couldn't feel his horns, and that his ears were smaller.

Sitting there with his mouth agape he looked pulled the blanket off his feet. Very quietly he replied, "Weird. This is weird."

Seraphine quickly turned her head and looked at Phleg. A word she seldom used slipped through her lips. She looked Phleg up and down trying to figure out if the human form was real or not. After determining it was real, another thought crossed her mind and her face began to heat up. "Uh, Phleg, remind me, were you wearing clothes before this transformation?" she asked looking away.

Basil grinned at Seraphine, snickering like a child. "This is fantastic. We can travel like normal people now."

Phleg drew the covers up, shaking his head. "This feels weird. Are you all this cold all the time?"

"They probably have something he can at least fit into," Basil said, standing and going to find clothes.

Phleg stood up with the blanket, legs shaking. "Oh I really hate this," he stuck out a foot, wavering as he tried to balance. "I feel weird. Do I look weird?" he asked Seraphine. "Why was Basil laughing?"

Through all the commotion Ulicia woke up. She slowly opened her eyes. She was not expecting what hovered above her. She blinked a couple times to clear her vision. "Did Basil need to make another distraction?... Oh wait." She carefully sat up. "Phleg? You finally did it! Congratulations."

"Wait, you knew he could do this?" Seraphine asked, still averting her gaze from Phleg.

"Well, not consciously, he still seems to be struggling with control, but I knew he had the ability to. I mean based on everything you all have told me that he's done it only makes sense."

"I didn't know I could do this. How am I supposed to change back? I don't know how I did this."

"Don't worry about it," Basil said, grinning, tossing the clothes to Phleg. Catching them, Phleg grimaced and started to put them on, struggling to do so."The last thing we need is you magically turning back right now. If we can keep you like this the harder we will be to spot, too. They are looking for a Celestial, not a human."

"Basil's right, this will make things much easier for travel. We can help you adjust to your new human form if you'd like Phleg. I'm sure it must be quite the difference." Ulicia attempted to stand on her own, but couldn't get it, so she continued to sit in the floor.

Gnash finally woke up and waddled over to Phleg. He sniffed his legs to make sure it was still him. Once he determined it was the same person he waddled over to Ulicia and laid down in her lap.

"Well, since travel will be easier, we have no excuses to not get on the road, so hurry up and get changed Phleg."

Basil was in an unusually good mood, bolstered by Seraphine's frustration at the whole spectacle. By the time they were out the door, he was the one helping Ulicia while Phleg stumbled alongside Seraphine as he tried to figure out his footing. It was the closest to real anger that he had seen him get, and it was all he could do to contain his laughter are the bizarre situation. The farmer was kind enough to offer them a ride to the next town, which he accepted for the group. The less walking they had to do in their current state the better. He walked like a bird and wobbled more than a newborn deer. They had been given some provisions for the road, and thankfully the weather was clear, though cold.

It was around midday when they reached their stop, and Phleg was the one to thank the man which sent him in a tizzy as if he had been blessed. From there they had a long way to go to get to the coast. At the least, it would be far easier.

It took them about four days, but they finally made it to the coast. Phleg was finally getting the hang of walking and Ulicia was able to walk on her own again, though they still had to make frequent stops for her due to her getting short winded. Seraphine was exhausted. She hadn't been able to sleep since before their run in with that thing at Basil's mother's house. She'd fall asleep for maybe an hour or two before waking up due to a nightmare. When she woke up she'd walk around and make sure everyone was still ok, even Basil. She could feel that her breaking point was coming soon, but she wouldn't let anyone see that. She needed to keep it together. She was hoping that when they got on the ship the waves would help rock her to sleep, that is, if they get on a ship.

Apparently something big had happened in Carahan which caused the ports to be under heavy security. It was harder to get in. From what Seraphine could gather, a new king had taken over. She couldn't help but think that the new King must be as paranoid but crazier than the last king to pull a move like that. That could just be the frustration talking.

The group decided to take a bre'ak and eat something. Seraphine could only take a few nibbles from the bread she had. She was too stressed to eat. "Well, it seems like nobody is willing to take outsiders to Carahan, especially if it's not their destination. Surely someone at this port is going to Carahan."
