❝Ahh... Yeah, buddy, but I’m pretty good at not dying.❞ Rhys chuckled, a hand reaching behind his head so he could rub the back of his neck. He was actually surprised he hadn’t died yet — especially with all the situations he’s gotten himself into. Sasha and Fiona tried to kill him, August and his weird mom, Jack, Vasquez... and now these assassin people. Rhys always managed to slip away from death, flip it off, tell it to catch him another day. ❝Besides... I think i’d be traumatized if I died and came back to life. Don’t think I’d ever leave the office again.❞ He joked, though inside, he was serious.

Besides, wasn’t that the worlds way of telling him he had to go? And what if you got stuck in an infinite loop of dying and coming back to life? Like dying naturally, of old age or something. Would you keep looping? Coming back to life and dying over and over again, because you’re connected to those weird echo devices?

Maybe it’s like life support. Rhys snickered at the idea, before realizing he was laughing at his own thoughts. He quickly shut up.

Zero could already tell rhys was unsure about the station. He needed to explain how the station worked. That it only worked up to a curtain point, you can at any point, get your DNA removed from its system (thus why jack and roland didn't respawn the first/last time). Thus Zero pondered how to explain it all first before nodding his head, mainly to himself.

then he went into a detailed haiku explanation on how the stations worked and to answer all of Rhys unasked questions. That way he could remove any doubts and such from his boyfriend.

Rhys listened to Zer0's explanation, him going into full detail making Rhys fall quiet for that amount of time. It sounded pretty safe to Rhys; though the idea of 'dying' and coming back still didn't sit right with him. His facial expressions through Zer0's explanation made this clear; he was confused at times, in shock others, disgusted and then seemingly understanding. He crossed his arms, thinking about it for a few more seconds before giving Zer0 a convinced nod.

❝You know I trust you with my life, Zer0.❞ He started, softly, looking at him with a smile. ❝If you think I should, then we can do it.❞

"Its merely a precaution." Zero ensured, looking when they reached the front desk and looked at the desk girl, lightly tapping the desk to get her attention. "Signing out?" He questioned. He's never actually signed out so wasn't sure how to go about that process and all, and with warrior bouncing all over the lobby in excitement and Zero having previously been bed ridden, hopefully the girl would understand why Zero wanted to sign out and why rhys was going with and all so wouldn't be too upset or anything.

❝What he said, please.❞ Rhys spoke up. The girl looked between them, then seemed to tap into the console and stared at it for a few seconds before letting out a sigh. Rhys shot her a sympathetic look, knowing that most people don't sign in and out in the facility unless there's meetings happening or ... Rhys wasn't even sure, actually. This was the most work the desk girl had done in probably a month, actually. Rhys crossed his arms, raising an eyebrow at her and she nodded to them. "You're free to go." Suddenly, Rhys seemed to get an idea. ❝Oooh, did they finish making my--❞

The girl cut him off, handing him a package that he opened excitedly, pulling out a fire-proof leash from it. ❝Perfect! Now we don't have to worry about our buddy running off. I got the measurements done and everything, Zer0.❞ He glanced at his burnt hand, and made a mental note to run it under some cold water later. Accidents happen when you have a lava-spitting creature as your pet.

He clicked the leash onto Warrior, humming happily and then announcing, ❝You look great, buddy. Like a true warrior. Who's the cutest beast in the world?? Who is?? Yes, it's you! You're the cutest little beast in the world!❞ Rhys baby-talked, patting it excitedly and poking its face playfully. The girl at the desk cleared her throat, and Rhys quickly stood, regaining his posture. He gripped the leash and flashed her a smile. ❝You didn't see that. Lets go, Zer0.❞

Zero watches as Rhys babies the beast and gets it more excited, making it shriek and howl and bounce about on the leash while Zero covers the front of his helmet then looks at the desk girl with a vague 'I have to put up with this gesture before he heads towards the front. First place to check would be that hodunk bar. A lot of assassins and wannabe hunters go there to get info when they can't go to moxxie's. They could pass warrior off as a mutated elemental skag. It wouldn' be the first time someone brought a skag into those bars anyways. So Rhys just needed to keep control 'Buddy' while Zero go intel.

Rhys followed Zer0, tugging Buddy along carefully and allowing them to get used to the leash, so they could understand that it was a direction of where to go and not go, just to keep them close by and safe. Rhys looked over at Zer0, amusement bubbling up in his throat because he knew that Zer0 didn't like the baby-talk as well. That didn't mean he was gonna stop doing it; in fact, he was probably just gonna do it even more. What would Zer0 do? Take the beast back to the vault? Threaten Rhys? There wasn't anything they could do.

Mechanical hand gripping the leash, Rhys used his free hand to wrap it around Zer0's arm, effectively clinging onto them. He glanced around for a few seconds, humming to himself quietly as they left the building. He didn't bother asking where they were going; Zer0 would tell them when they got there ... hopefully he would, at least.

Zero didn't mind the hold Rhys always seemed to have on his arm, it was always quite nice actually. There was a new U near the Hodunk bar, they could register Rhys there, then hit that bar and get info. With that decided, he reached the fast travel station, hit the icon, let it scan them then send them to their destination. Once they arrived, he first took Rhys to the nearby New U, which quickly flashed Red when it scanned unregistered DNA and questioned if the person wished to register then offered a smll blue pad one would use to have a singular finger scanned.

Rhys kept his hold on Buddy's leash, glancing down at them when they began the fast-travel to assure it would scan all for them. When they got to the New U, he nearly jumped when it flashed red and glanced at Zer0, unsure of what to do. ❝Do I just...?❞ Rhys questioned, wiggling his fingers. After he said yes, Rhys let out a nervous sigh, muttering a quick 'well, here goes nothing' under his breath. He pressed a finger onto the pad and kept it there until it told him to remove it, glancing at Zer0 and then to the finger pad. ❝Is that all?❞

The station was quick and fast, taking a single pin prick o blood as a DNA sample to add to its massive data base. Once done it gave its obligatory thank you as well as a sarcastic 'Enjoy your New U when it happens'. Zero sighed a bit at the response, put an arm around Rhys before turning and leading him to the hodunk bar. He gave a brief warning of 'it'll be rough' and a 'don't touch anything' before entering the bar without hesitation, even if a couple people did side eye or glare at the two, mainly zero since he's caused trouble in there before.
