Rhys makes an annoyed noise when he's injected, but doesn't move to stop Zer0 -- or do anything, really. Rhys sits there, feeling both defeated and like he just died a little. He slowly puts away the holo-disk and starts getting back onto his feet, a little wobbly but determined to go and see Buddy. At least one of them is okay, Rhys thinks as he makes his way to the beast. Though he can't stay up for long and simply collapses next to Buddy and Axton, wrapping his mechanical arm around the beast and resting his head on his arm. "You're okay, Buddy. You're okay, and I got you." He whispers, and glances back at Zer0. "We have to go after Timothy."

"We will." zero stated as he followed after Rhys, then knelt down next to him when he collapsed. Buddy gives a tired whine, tongue hanging out but didn't fight the movement, merely stretched out their paws a bit before laying limp again as Axton looked at the two. "So how are we going to get these two back to base?" Axton asked as Zero shrugs. "Zed instead." Zero stated, getting a raised brow from Axton before he shrugged and nodded in agreement.

Rhys looks between the two, about to interject, but he's starting to grow extremely tired. A peaceful feeling washes over him, telling him that everything would be okay. Rhys lays his head back down onto his arm, mumbling something about not needing a doctor, and passes out.

When he wakes, he's unsure of where he is, but wow it stinks. His nose scrunches up in disgust, and he lifts his head to begin looking around the room. There's a man with a surgical mask on nearby, on the other side of the room, and he's quite bloody. Rhys is suddenly feeling quite nauseous as he swings his legs over the side of the table he's sitting on. Was he kidnapped? Did Timothy come back and capture them? Rhys' eyes flicker across the room before they land on the vending machine nearby. Oh. He remembered Zer0 stating something about a Dr. Zed before he promptly collapsed onto Buddy.

He begins to rub his head, though the pain is gone he can't feel but feel a little... Suspicious. The entire room is, well, not sanitary for medical procedures. Rhys is quite sure there's a corpse where Dr. Zed is, and judging by the smell he's at least 99% positive. Though there's no sign of Zer0, which makes his stomach flip. "How... How did I get here, exactly?" He asks, trying to keep judgement out of his voice as he gets off the table.

Zed looks up from his work with the body when Rhys speaks. "Ah, seems your awake. The vault hunters brought you in with a real interesting beast. Looked like some new Skag mutation almost. Almost like the Skrags." He mused, rubbing a gloved hand against his chin for a moment before setting down what he held in his other hand to turn to Rhys. "I'm Dr. Zed. You were pretty banged up, two of your ribs were nearly powder, not to mention the amount of cracks in your skull." He added in as he wiped his hands down easily. "Take it easy. And if you see Zer0, tell him i want the power core to my med-dispenser back. He came in here, ripped it out saying he had an idea, then ran out with that Skag-beast-thing in tow." He finished, sounding a bit irritated.

Rhys is cringing at the descriptions of what rough shape he was in. I guess that was his punishment for rushing at Timothy like that. Rhys rubs the back of his neck, eyeing whatever Zed had been holding before offering a mostly sincere smile. "Well, uh, thank you for patching me up. I appreciate it." He says, before heading towards the door. "I'll... I'll tell Zer0 about that power core thing, and uh, take it easy, I guess. Thanks again." He's relieved when he's outside, the fresh air washing over him. He takes in a deep breath, quietly promising to never take air for granted again before turning. He assumes they're in hideout, heading there to scout out the place first before he fast-travels back to Atlas. He also feels like the other vault hunters might want an explanation for what the hell happened, since Yvette barged in and tried to make them kill Rhys. His stomach flips and he doesn't bother knocking before opening the door, heading inside with only a little bit of guilt.

Buddy's familiar, happy, shrieking is heard way before one enters the hideout, so when Rhys does enter the hide out, Axton is near the washers and dryers, reading a magazine, buddy is running up and down the stairs like some sort of happy dance and theres a few sparks of light at the stairs. Thus when Axton hears the door, he looks up. "Well, look whos up. Zero thought he had way more time with your injuries. Zed mad about the power core Zero pretty much hijacked? Haha, pun not intended there."
"You're a terrible person!" Was called from somewhere upstairs.
Axton snorts greatly at this, flipping a page. "Again, he thought he'd have more time if you want to go run up there. Buddy's insistant screaming pretty much moved everyone else to moxxi's until he's settled down." Axton mused.

Rhys looks at Axton, crossing his arms. "Hello to you, too. I'm doing great, thanks for the concern." He says, deadpan, but the smile that breaks out upon seeing Buddy gives it away. He rushes forward immediately, going to pat the vault beast. "Buddy! Oh man, am I glad to see you? I missed you so much!" He coos, patting and rubbing the beast excitedly. "Who's my precious destroyer of the world? That's you! It's definitely you!" Though, Rhys is cut short when he hears a way too familiar voice upstairs. Suddenly, his attention is off Buddy, though he pats them a few more times before standing up. He shoots Axton a questioning look before he's off. The CEO is quick up the stairs, carefully avoiding tripping over Buddy to avoid further head injury. "Zer0?"

Buddy is quick to rush after Rhys, panting heavily from excitement and tail wagging rapidly. Once upstairs and in the "main" room, its an amusing sight. Zero's at the main table, working carefully on both the wiring of the holo-disk and the golden Echo eye that he must of taken while rhys was knocked out, not to mention also focused on an interface before the two items. The interface is active, seemingly slowly scrolling downwards while jack, in their projected state, was laying on his back, arms tucked under his head, staring at the ceiling until hearing Rhys call out a name. This sits back, taps the side of their helmet before looking at the doorway, lifting a hand to wave.

Jack tips his head back and lifts a hand to wave. "Hey! Rhysie! Hows it going there bed head. You might want to consider a shower actually. It looks like you've got a skag lick going on there. Also, you're boyfriends a miracle worker it seems. This thing was supposed to completely obliterate my coding, as a fail safe incase things didn't go well. Not to mention ruin anything my coding was attached too! I'm not even sure how he did it." Jack stated, propping himself up now as Buddy bounced into the room with excitement.

Rhys doesn't know whether to scream, cry, leave, laugh or do all of the above. His lips pull back into a scowl without meaning to at the mention of his bedhead, reaching up to adjust it. Trying to push it back only forces the hair into his eyes and he gets annoyed after a few seconds, adjusting it to at least keep it out of his face. He can feel it beginning to curl now that he's touched it, and he tries to ignore it as he slowly crosses his arms. He's quiet for at least a minute after Jack is done speaking. He's still debating whether or not to yell, before looking from Jack to Zer0. He takes a deep breath.

"You're the stupidest person I've ever met, and that's really saying something because I've met a lot of stupid people." He begins, raising a hand. For a second it looks like he's about to begin ranting, but he continues, calmly. "First, you spy on me, Zer0 and Athena." He lifts a finger. "Second, you listen to only half of the conversation and take only bits and pieces I say in order for you to have a valid reason to be dramatic." He raises another finger. "Third, you get captured by your own doppelganger and put both you and Buddy in extreme danger." Another one. "Fourth, you self sacrifice yourself and don't even say goodbye!" Now his hands are thrown in the air, officially putting him in rant mode.

"Do you realize how much we've gone through to find you?! I broke two ribs, split my head open, broken my nose and killed two people. Two! Z popped out their ankle for you! Axton... Was Axton!" He's waving them around now. "Only for you to kill yourself last minute to be a hero!" Slowly, Rhys lowers his hands and takes a deep breath. He looks over at Buddy, then back to Jack. He seems a little less angry now. "What I'm trying to say, Jack, is if you ever do that again... I'll hunt you down again and I'll bring you back every single time you self-destruct just to be a hero. Because you're my friend, and that's what friends do. We don't let each other do things like that."

Jack sits up and crosses his arms at his chest, listening to Rhys list everything off then went into rant mode. He shrugs a bit as he leans back on his hands, even if he doen't really need to, not to mention if he wasn't careful, he'd phase through the table. "And thats why i built the protocol. It wasn't to be a hero Rhysie, it was because i had faith that you're skills would be able to bring me back. This however." He points a thumb at Zero, who had gone back to working while Rhys had been chewing out jack. "I didn't expect." He finished as Zero just faintly shrugged his shoulders.
