Rhys immediately pulls his hand back, shouting out quick apologizes over and over again as Buddy begins to panic. He falls quiet when he hears footsteps and then Jack's voice, rolling his eyes. "No, Jack, Buddy is sick. They're all... Freaked out and stuff." Guilt twists in Rhys' stomach. This was his fault, wasn't it? He runs a hand through his loose hair, and sighs. "I need to open the door to get them unstuck, but I'm afraid they might attack. I'm going to put this hallway in lockdown just in case, so you might want to get out of here or go back to your office." Rhys brings up his mechanical hand, opening up a series of options and finds their hallway sector.

"Caramel seems to have that covered, literally, she's laying on his face right now. And how can an iridium beast get sick? That seems highly unlikely." Jack stated, sounding both curious yet concerned over this information. Buddy, sick? Yeah that might be possible due to how tiny they were, but such a thing still seemed highly unlikely. He could see the chips and breaks in the rocky armor, and the usually weak chest plate seemed to be... Oh. "Hold up just a second there rhys. Did you happen to leave that door open at all last night? Or did buddy get in any kind of a fight?" The questions were sudden, but necessary.

Zero's brows furrow at jack's questions, but moves over to carefully kneel on the other side of buddy, try and help rhys sooth the best when he notices what jack's getting at. The usually glowing breast plates on buddy's body are missing, leaving heir magma heart exposed, which is slowly dripping with a metallic purple sheen. Zero's quick to lift a hand and point, draw rhys' attention to it. Buddy might be going ballistic because something came at them and got away, or because buddy instinctively wanted to go back to the vault they came from for a magma bah to fix he plating.

"No, we've just been... I don't know, working, I guess? I might've just overworked him, I wasn't thinking and... Rhys pauses, unsure of where this is getting until Zer0 brings his attention to Buddy's cracked armor. He closes his mechanical hand, forgetting about the hallway as words begin to spill out of his mouth. "What? What happened? How did he get hurt?" His hand slams down on the button that opens the door, since it's not activating from Rhys' presence itself and he can only assume it's broken from Buddy slamming into it. Rhys is babbling at this point, face red as if he was about to explode as he rushes back to Buddy, who's now free since the door is open. "What do we do? Oh God, I've never taken care of an animal before because my mom told me I could barely take care of myself and I always thought she was being stupid but she was totally right, I could only take care of a turtle that I had back in college and it somehow ran away!" Rhys is panicking, which is clear as his head whips back and forth from Jack to Zer0.

Some people walking by have thrown weird glances at the three people gathered around Buddy, and one person stops to linger until Rhys begins to babble in a panic and decides to move on, as if they've seen something they weren't supposed to. Rhys doesn't even notice, apologizing profusely to Buddy and promising to get them fixed.

Jack raises his hands in an 'easy there' motion. "Calm down there Reesies.Take a deep breath before you hyperventilate and pass out. Cause thats not gunna help anyone. Especially your boyfriend there. When the hunters fought the original warrior and broke the plating, it would always jump back into the magma at the vault. So we'll need to take them back to the vault unless this place magically has a pool of magma we can throw them into." Jack stated calmly a Caramel just mewled, sitting/laying on Buddy's head as the beast just over all drops to the floor, panting and breathing heavy at the moment but isn't acting overly aggressive anymore.

Zero lets out a small huff, looking at Jack, then to Rhys at the question. Was it possible? Buddy didn't seem to be in too good a state to walk, not to mention buddy paniced evry time something touched them as well as the spewing molten metal and such. Buddy' body much be trying to recreate the plating itself, thus why it was losing so much metal and iridium and the high temperature. But that made it dangerious to touch buddy in general. But at least it seemed with caramel buddy was relaxing. The feline seemed to help buddy realize there was no danger. that also meant buddy reacted to rhys aggressively to protect him.

Rhys is quick to shake his head. "No, no magma here. We... We considered it once, but then someone in Engineering... You know what? Yeah, no, there's no magma here. I won't even... Ugh. Rhys shakes his head and arms, obviously a little scarred from whatever had happened as his body shivers in disgust. He's beginning to calm down, though, color fading from his face. He looks back to Zer0, eyebrows furrowed. "I don't know, though. They don't seem... Okay enough to walk. And uh, carrying them is out of the question." Rhys rubs at his eyes, standing up straight and turning back to Jack as they search for options.

"Well, we need to find a way to get them back to the vault to repair the plating an- wait, wait, wait. I've got an idea that might just fix this." Jack stated, hands out and chuckling a bit, which is usually not a good sign, nore the smile accompanying that smile. "If we can get Buddy down to one of the assembly bays, where the high powers metal cutting and welding items are, we may just be able to create a new chest plating that can withstand their super heated body temperature and wont break." He concluded.

"Is that even safe?" Zero questioned with an unseen raised brow as buddy just gives a much louder whine, trying to push themselves up but immediately falling back over,

"Its either that, or buddy here suffers for a lot longer, their health eventually gives out, and the next one to pop out of the vault wont be buddy. It will be a full sized, extremely hostile warrior." Jack stated.

Rhys is quick to not trust Jack, arms crossing immediately with a raised eyebrow. He backed up to fall in line beside Zer0, shifting to lay his weight on one foot. "We aren't putting Buddy in harm's way. We can find a way to get them to the Vault, or─ His voice, beginning firm, falls out once he sees Buddy in pain. His eyes flood with emotion, which he quickly shakes away. He begins to look between Zer0 and Jack, obviously having a little of a dilemma before groaning. "Is that... Is it even possible? And what if it doesn't work?"

Jack makes a vague gesture to buddy at Rhys words. "Do you honestly think they'd last that long. And you honestly think i'd want to put up with your whining and his death threats if this /didn't/ work?" He stated as Zero rolled his eyes a bit at jack being a bit over dramatic. "travel will be long / fast travel wont register / any hover carts." He stated, giving his two cents. Traveling to the vault using one of the equipment carts used to transport the heavy items from one side of the base to another would be long, tedious and dangerous.

"I... I don't whine. Rhys states simply, hands moving to his hips. He looks between Buddy and Jack, unsure of the right approach. Obviously, trying to get Buddy to the Vault with a car was dangerous would take long. Jack's suggestion, though stupid, was the obvious one in this scenario. He cringes a little, knowing he's placing a little bit too much faith in Jack, but nods tediously. "O-Okay. Fine. We'll make him a chest. You better pray that this works, Jack, or I... I won't be happy. In fact, I'll be really, really upset. And you - you don't wanna see me... when - when I'm..." He trails off, unsure of where he was going with the threat, before waving his hands erratically. "Lets just do this. As soon as possible.

Jack shrugs a bit, amused with such thinly vieled threat. "Well then, you two find a way to get him down there, i'll go set up." He stated with a wave of his hand before he turned and headed off at a quick pace.

Zero just sighs and shakes his head a bit at jack, folding his arms loosely at his chest before looking down at buddy, then at rhys. How /were/ they going to get the beast to where jack wanted?
