He nodded, "I can imagine that would be so, so hard, I love Max and Alessa so much, I can't imagine them not wanting to be with me." he said softly.

[Boomer]

Maria nodded a little as she laid on the floor. "Yeah..." she said softly. She flicked her tail as she rolled onto her side. "It must be weird with Alessa especially since, well... she's adopted." she murmured, "Maybe it's because I'm a new mother and it'd be strange to take care of an older pup."

"It is." he admitted softly, "And with Rainer, and Mary around, I sometimes wonder if she'd rather be taken care of by one of them." he said as he looked over at her. "I am trying to be a good father to her, but she has her real father around now, and it is hard." he said. He hadn't really told anyone how he was feeling, and he really hoped that Maria didn't mind him talking to her about it.

[Boomer]

Maria thought about her words before speaking. "I think it's normal for her to gravitate towards Mare. She's always wanted a caring mother and Mare gives her that. Rainer being around sort of... cements her dreams of knowing her father. I know she loves you as much as them. I think with everything that's happened and with more of her biological family here, she wants to spend time with them before they leave." she explained.

"I don't know about that." Max admitted softly, "I think she might ask if she can stay with you and Rainer, then she would have a family again, and I know that's all she wants." he said softly. "I just want her to be happy, she deserves that after all, she's a good kid and deserves a good life." he said softly.

[Boomer]

"She isn't all that attached to me." said Maria quietly, shaking her head, "Not that she doesn't like me..." She then thought it was a bad idea for her to bring that up. "I suppose things will get easier once everything settles down." she murmured.

"I guess we will see what happens." he said softly as he looked at the little girls as they played with their momma, "At least they are happy, cute little pups."

[Boomer]

"Yes, they are..." she said happily, picking the girls up and lightly hugging them. The pups were just enjoying the attention they were getting. She pricked her ears when Henry came to the door. "Uh, Mare wanted to talk to you." he said, not sure if he was interrupting anything. "Oh, okay." said Maria, putting the girls in a playpen. She didn't want to put them down for a nap.

"I will watch them.' Max said, giving her a light smile, he'd keep an eye on the pups as they played in their playpen, they seemed fairly happym and he knew if they got fussy he could handle that.

[Boomer]

"Thanks Max." she said, leaving the room. Maria went downstairs and the girls watched their mother leave. They sat in silence for a few moments before playing once again.
