Rainer nodded, "Well I hope so, I didn't make the best first impression." he said as he looked over at her with a light smile, "But I am hoping, once his son is better, we can talk." he told her. "Now Maria, how are you truly feeling? I know it has been a long few days." he said with a soft smile.

[Boomer]

"Oh, Matt's sick?" asked Maria, frowning some, "Poor guy." She then flicked her tail as she turned to Eileen for a moment. "I'm okay..." she murmured, "Really, I'm fine."

He nodded, then watched her, he gently caressed her cheek, "Maria, I am a doctor, I can tell when someone is lying about being fine." he said, giving her a gentle smile. "Why don't you talk to me? I am a good listener after all?" he said with a smile.

[Boomer]

"Really, I'm fine." she insisted, flicking her tail, "Things have been stressful of course and I've been handling them just fine." Maria was often a great liar, but she hardly bothered with lying because Mary was even better at picking up her lies. "Knowing that my pups will be fine makes me feel fine." she said, "I care more about them than myself."

"That is a lot of fine." he chuckled as he looked at her with a soft smile, "Thank you for talking to me." he said as he looked at her. "Now, are you going to get some rest?" he questioned with a smile.

[Boomer]

"No problem, I like talking to ya." she said, shrugging some. Maria then shook her head. "Not right away, it's still early." she said, "It's only, what, seven?"

He chuckled, "It is early, but you have had a very eventful time." he smiled as he looked over at her, "II will keep you company if you want, my schedule is fairly clear tonight unless there is an emergency."

"Sure, that'd be fine." she said, giving a nod. Maria looked over to Eileen as she slept peacefully. "Oh, I see." she said, "Mare sometimes works in the ER if they need her to."

"Yeah, I don't work in the ER much anymore." he said softly as he looked over at her with a light smile, "But if I am needed they will page me."

[Boomer]

"Hmm, I see." she mused, "I was never one for the medical profession. Mare's always read medical textbooks, even as kids." She got up as Eileen began to whine. "I uh... think she's hungry." said Maria, picking up the pup.
