Dash focused on the battered ring sadly. "I really messed everything up..." He muttered, continueing to shake in fear.

Astra leaned back against the wall but glanced at the guys. "I think its safe to tell him what the machine was for, dash. Not like its going to matter anyways soon."

Azuna swallowed the lump in her throat, trying not to let her voice crack. She felt like she was sinking through the groubd and was unsure how much longer she could remain standing on her own. "I missed you..." She breathed, her voice breaking despite her efforts.

"No, you didn't," he whispered, holding him close. He stroked his hair, wishing desperately that he could protect Dash from this. He faintly heard Astra's voice.

Mikah's heart shattered as he looked at her. He pulled her into his arms, holding her close. He buried his face into her hair, a sob bubbling up in his throat.

Dash shuddered at Astra's words but knew she was right. He pulled away slightly from Dalton and looked him in the eyes. "I was trying to find a way we could have a kid together so you wouldnt leave me. Astra agreed to be a surrogate for us and the machine would allow us to prepare everything... But i guess it doesn't matter anymore. Im sorry dalton. If i had just let you go we wouldnt be here right now."

Azuna hugged him tightly as silent sobbs she struggled to fight wracked her body. She clung to him si she wouldnt crumple to the ground, hating how weak she was.

"Oh. Dash..." His gaze grew soft as he looked down at him. "You thought...Oh, Dash...I wouldn't have left you for that, my love. I love you a lot more than that." He pulled him close, kissing the top if his head. "That is sweet of you, Dash. I appreciate your effort."

Mikah held her close. He gently cupped her chin with his hand, tipping her head up to his. He softly kissed her, wishing he could heal her sadness. It hurt him to see her this upset.

Dash looked over where the machine sat against the wall. "I got it working though..."

Azuna kissed him back tentatively, feeling herself crumble as she knew being close to him now would just make the inevitable break even harder.

"You...." He looked over at the machine, chewing on his lip nervously. "H-how..." He didn't really understand how that machine worked. Was there really a child inside, like how it would be in its mother's womb?

Mikah melt against her, relief buzzing through him. He picked her up so her legs wrapped around his waist. He kissed her back, then broke the kiss, taking a breath of air. He felt dizzy with relief that maybe they would be okay.

Dash kept his focus on the machine. "We would get samples of our dna and combine them in the machine then have it transfered to Astra. She agreed to carry and give birth to the child since that would be easier than finding an artificial womb."

Azuna kept her eyes closed and held tightly onto him when he pulled away. She could face him but needed his embrace.

"Thank you, Astra," he whispered. "Thank you for offering this." He pressed his cheek to the top of Dash's head, sighing.

Mikah gently kissed her cheek. He carried her into the hut and made a makeshift bed on the floor. He set her down gently and lied down beside her, pulling her close again. He was tired, and figured she would be too.

Astra shrugged. "Not like it matters. We might all end up dead soon. Hopefully she just kills me so you guys would just have to find a new uterus to rent."

Dash looked at Astra sadly but didnt say anything.

Azuna curled up with him and tried to block out the others. She was painfully aware if caia and her children's presence but she couldnt help but be selfish and want to keep ahold of Mikah for herself.

Dalton didn't reply. He held Dash close, trying not to think about their death.

Mikah rubbed her back as he held her, his breath warm on her cheek.

Caia had fallen asleep with Hestia, resting on the chair.
