"She did get into a fight after placing one of those collars on my daughter." she stated, "She's since apologized. Shelby has disclosed some information to us, and I believe she is not being treated well." Mary looked to Mr. Jackson, wanting him to back her up.

[LilacSky]

Mr. Jackson, intimidated by both of the girls, didn't want to upset either, so he simply nodded. He wasn't afraid but he was trying to stay professional and let Mary do her talking, and if there was any backlash from the Mother, he would step in. He tried to apologize to Mary with his eyes.
"Damn little girl," Shelby's Mother sneered. "Not being treated well? I give her everything she needs and more? Where is she? I want her in the room so I can show you there's not a mark on her." Shelby's Mother was relatively sure no one had seen the mark on her daughter's thigh.


(I am so sorry for not responding earlier! I've been busy with finals and my parents took my computer. I'll try to come on again regularly!)

"You mean the chronically opening scar?" she huffed, narrowing her eyes, "It's been reopened so many times I'm shocked she hasn't gotten an infection. It broke open when we mentioned that you would be stopping by. That's also her blood on the floor." Mary gestured to the drops of blood on the floor, right where Shelby had been sitting.

Shelby's Mother lifted one foot. She looked angry and not nervous, like Shelby had before cracking. "Bring her here. I want to take her home. I don't know how she got hurt. And the collar? I was protecting all the students around her from her powers. You should thank me, and it should stay on her." The key stuck out of Shelby's Mother's pocket.

[Boomer]

"She's not going home with you." she said lowly, almost growling, "That poor girl has been subjected to things no child should be subjected to. She has electrical burns on her neck from being shocked so much." Mary tensed up a little as she saw the key. "I'll prove the burns. Give me the key." she said.

[LilacSky]

She took a step back, fingering the key in her pocket. "As if I'd give it to you maniacs! Won't even let me see my daughter and she got into a fight with one of your students!" She looked at Mr. Jackson accusingly. She tried to storm past them and into the school to find Shelby.

[Boomer]

"Sit down." growled Mary, standing up rather quickly, "You're not going to traumatize that girl any longer." The pain in her back made her want to collapse, but she took a deep breath. She turned to Mr. Jackson. "Get the police down here." she ordered.

[LilacSky]

Mr. Jackson dialed as Shelby's Mother shrieked with rage and tried to flee. The principal handed Mary the phone and lunged at the running woman, snatching the key and blocking her exit. "You'll both pay for this!" the woman shrieked.

[Boomer]

Mary had given the phone over to David as she retrieved the key from Mr. Jackson. She slipped out of the office to the teacher's lounge. She slowly approached Shelby with the key in her paw. "I want to make one thing clear; if you try to use your power to harm myself or anyone else, you'll get a power-blocking collar." she said firmly, "I want to give you a chance. Don't ruin your chance to harness your power and use it for good." Mary then unlocked the collar, getting a better look at the burns. "We'll need to get those checked out by a doctor." she murmured.

Shelby's fingers jolted at the sudden return of her power. Her body reacted accordingly and zapped the ground. "S-sorry," she said, afraid Shelby would hurt her. "I-it was an accident!"

The police arrived within minutes. Shelby's Mother had calmed down and stood waiting.
