Her embarrassment soon turned to guilt. "I mean..." she said quietly, "I care about him... b-but I'm a little nervous because of everything he did." Alessa was very much on edge about being abandoned by him if he didn't get better.

"I can understand why. Maybe you should talk with him when he's feeling better. I think what happened to him will make him reconsider the things he did. But I'm sure he cares a lot about you too. What he does is almost always for your benefit, even offering for you to stay with us." She walked to Mary's room.

[Boomer]

"Maybe..." she said softly, trailing off. Alessa shrugged a little, then went into Mary's room. She climbed onto her bed and hugged Mary. "Good timing." said Mary quietly, "Do you mind of these students watch?" She gestured to the four medical students that had been taking Mary's vitals. "Okay." said Alessa quietly. Mary sat up a little, then prepared Alessa for the blood draw. The students watched in awe as Mary was able to draw Alessa's blood. "A basic understanding of anatomy can guide you, even when the vein isn't always easy to see." said Mary softly. Alessa didn't seem to mind, mostly because the students weren't acting disgusted or pitying Alessa for the scars.

Chrys stood in the corner of the room, watching as well. "Should I stay here, or can I go to David's room? Have you finished?" she asked.

[Boomer]

"She's finished, but I know she likes to sit for a few minutes." answered Mary, offering a small smile. Alessa cuddled up close to Mary. The students left the room as they had to return to their duties.

"Do you want to see David, Alessa, or shall I go alone?" Chrys asked.

[Boomer]

"I need to sit..." said Alessa quietly. She always felt dizzy after her blood was taken. "She'll go to his room in a few minutes." said Mary quietly.

"Okay." Chrys walked over to see David.
He had just woken up from what felt like the millionth nap. He groaned and sat up when he heard Chrys come in. "Ch...Chrysanthemum?" he mumbled.

[Boomer]

Mary and Alessa talked for a few minutes until Alessa left. She wandered down the hallway and went into David's room. She flicked her tail as she looked over to him.

"Hi, David!" Chrys said happily. She hurried over and gave him a hug, careful not to touch his legs. "How are you feeling?"
"I'm fine. Just... I wish things turned out differently. I not only hurt myself but also Mary. Tch. How's Alessa?"
"Why don't you ask her herself?" Chrys asked as Alessa walked in.
