[Boomer]

As the oven went off, Alessa stepped back to let Mary get the rolls. She set them on the counter, then turned off the oven. "Could you please set the table while they cool down?" asked Mary, looking to Alessa. Alessa dipped her head as she got three plates and set them on the table, then three glasses of milk, and three napkins as well. By that time, Mary brought the rolls and frosting to the table, along with a butter knife.

"Should I be the taste tester?" David asked jokingly.

[Boomer]

"By all means, go ahead." said Mary, pushing the bowl towards him. Alessa stared at the rolls intensely; it was clear she wanted to eat, but she knew better than to snatch one.

David tasted one, and his eyes popped from the flavor. "This is amazing, you two!" he said. He noticed Alessa and said, "You can have one, sweetie, you made them."

[Boomer]

Alessa used all of her willpower to take a roll slowly. She frosted it to her liking before devouring it. Mary finally took one for herself and lightly frosted it before taking a bite. "You mustn't tell the pups." she said softly, "They won't be happy that they didn't get any rolls for breakfast." Alessa nodded as she finished her roll.

David smiled at the remark. Slowly, he asked, "Is there anything you aren't incredible at, Mary?"

[Boomer]

"I'm no neurosurgeon, however I've seen enough doctors crack open a chest and manually restart the heart enough times to say I'd be comfortable trying." she mused, glancing to him. Alessa took a second roll and frosted it before eating it.

David grinned. He took another roll and frosted it.

[Boomer]

Mary stuck with one roll; she didn't usually eat a lot of sweets. Alessa drank her milk, then took her dishes to clean them. She set them on the counter to dry, then looked to the adults.

"I can clean up the rest," David said to Mary and Alessa. He stood up to start.
