[Boomer]

Mary looked at her watch as David explained the situation. "Did you say anything when you warned her about the oven?" she asked, "Just say yes or no. I don't want her to hear any of the words you might've said." She then gave a nod. "I'll be there in fifteen minutes." she said, "Keep her calm and talk to her."

"Yes, I did. I thought she would be more scared of seeing the actual... you know, but I guess the words hurt her more." David sighed, disappointed in himself once again. "I'll be here. I'll keep talking to her. Thank you so much, Mary, for everything you've done. You're one heck of a woman."

[Boomer]

"You didn't do it on purpose." she said, gathering her things as she was leaving. Mary decided that she'd get the pups later, just in case Alessa became violent. "Well, thank you..." she murmured, slipping into the elevator, "That's the nicest thing I've heard in a while." Mary decided to stay on the phone with David until she got to the house.

David continued talking to Alessa, asking questions and reassuring her that everything was going to be okay. He just wished she would talk back, or at least look at him. Her eyes were glazed and unseeing.

[Boomer]

Mary left the hospital and briskly walked down the sidewalk. She alerted David that she was coming inside of the house, then hung up. Mary went upstairs and found them in the bathroom. She took off the bandages to look at the wound. "She got pretty deep..." she murmured, "I brought some supplies."

"Thank you," David said. "Tell me if you need help." He stood patiently.

[Boomer]

"Keep her from hitting and kicking me." she said, getting out the supplies she'd need to stitch up the wound. Alessa didn't react until she felt the shot of lidocaine in her thigh. Alessa flinched and tried pulling away.

David protected Mary as she had instructed him to do. She hit and kicked at him, but not Mary, and Mary was able to stitch up the wound.

[Boomer]

Mary waited for the lidocaine to take its effect before she began to stitch up the wound. Alessa had kicked and flailed, but stopped as the pain went away. The pup looked to Mary and David as it was stitched up rather evenly.

"Is that everything?" David asked.
