Orrin slept deeply through the night as he dreamt peacefully. The young merman didn't wake up until he heard Daniel's cry early in the morning and felt Dawn pull away from him. Groggily, he untangled himself from Dawn then rubbed his face and sat up. " What's wrong, Daniel?" He asked as if the baby could reply, his voice still husky from sleep, " Are you hungry, little land-dweller?" Orrin pushed himself up out of bed and came over to Dawn and her brother. " Good morning, Dawn" He said cheerily with his usual friendly smile, " Need any help? "

[Trots]

“Hmm. Yes could you change his diaper? If you know how.” Dawn looked to him and somewhat looked to her door. She was going to get some food for him so he wouldn’t be too hungry until she got to work. “It’s really simple. Just remove the one he has on before tossing it in the trash and putting the new one on.”

" Sure! Never tried it before, but I think I can do it" Orrin nodded, willing to try it. He didn't really know much about human children, but he was learning a lot about them from helping to take care of Daniel. Humming an old mermaid lullaby, the young warrior picked up Daniel gently and changed his diper without much problem. Once he was finished, Orrin tossed away the old diper. " That wasn't too hard was it, Daniel? You didn't even cry much, my brave little warrior" He remarked with a warm chuckle. Very gently, he picked Daniel up, holding him close to his chest. " Now for food, yes?" He looked to Dawn with a cheerful smile.

[Trots]

“Yeah. Stay here.” Dawn rushed out and came back kind of late this time. Her Father was talking to her and he didn’t sound happy. Dawn got a little upset be She his her emotions and got to the fridge, getting the applesauce. She grabbed a spoon for Daniel and she walked back to her room, locking the door. It wa sobvious to see She was crying but she handed them the things they needed and Dawn went straight to getting ready. She went into her small restroom and she began to wash her face. “Would you like to come with us, Orrin?”

Orrin stayed with Daniel, lighting bouncing the baby and playing with him until Dawn came back. Almost immediately, he could tell that something was wrong. " Dawn?" He stated, but she rushed off to the bathroom before he could finish. The merman frowned and shifted Daniel to one arm as walked over to the small bathroom, " Dawn, why are you crying? What's wrong?" He asked worriedly.

[Trots]

“I’m fine... It was just my Dad. Don’t worry about it.” Dawn finished cleaning her face and she looked to Orrin. “Could you feed Daniel while I get ready?” She asked In a somewhat rushed way. “It would really help me.” Dawn walked past him and grabbed some clothes from her closet, starting to change without the care of Orrin being there. When she was rushing, she didn’t exactly think twice. Anyways, she got dressed, now wearing light blue jeans and a white button-up shirt. She tucked in the bottom of her shirt Into her jeans and she put on a dark blue belt. It was what her job made her wear. She liked it in a way, it wasn’t terrible, but she definitely liked other things more. Dawn glanced to orrin as she slipped on some black rain boots, knowing it would still be muddy outside.

Orrin gave a small nod in understanding; he knew that it wasn't a good idea to press Dawn for more information if she wasn't comfortable sharing what was really bothering her. She would tell him when she was ready to; until then, the warrior wasn't going to bring it up. " Yes, I can feed him." Orrin said with a smile- he was glad to help Dawn any way he could. As Dawn got dressed, he fed Daniel his applesauce, then once he was finished, Orrin cleaned up the baby. " There now, that's much better." He said, satisfied. Orrin held the baby close to his chest and smiled at Dawn, " What now? " He asked, eager to help and learn more about what humans did all day.

[Trots]

Dawn looked over to him and she smiled, shaking her head. “Nothing. But~you never answered if you wanted to come with us to my job. Maybe you could help out.” Dawn shrugged and grabbed a cute little jacket for Daniel, walking over. She put it on him and he giggled, snuggling against Orrin before closing his eyes tiredly. He fell asleep again and Dawn sighed lightly. “You might like it. But when we walk, you need to stay close. There are lots of weirdos in the city.”

" Of course! Want to come and help " He said cheerily. Orrin smiled as Daniel snuggled against him and let the little guy sleep without disturbing him. The merman glanced back at Dawn as she spoke, cracking a warm smile, " Can handle myself, " He chuckled," But, I'll stay close, promise." Orrin could protect himself against dangers in the ocean; from bad merpeople to sharks, he could take on whatever was thrown at him. But, he didn't know the first thing about living in the human world; the merman didn't know what was 'dangerous' and what wasn't.

“Oh wonderful. Thank you.” Dawn smiled and pulled her hair up into a messy bun before she gently took Daniel and held him up right. “Well, lets go.” Dawn smiled and pointed to the window. “I’ll meet you outside.” She went through her door and she made her way down the hall, glancing to her Dad who shot a glare. She hurried through and made it out safely for once. She then glanced to her window.
