" Yeah! They'd like you as much as I do, I think " Orrin said confidently, though truthfully he wasn't sure how his family would react to Dawn being a human. As Dawn left, the warrior crouched down and stayed hidden under the window, keeping a watchful eye for trouble. He was still just a little nervous that the police would return and catch them. As Dawn opened the window, Orrin stood and climbed into the room- or tumbled in rather. He still wasn't exactly used to his new legs just yet, though he was doing much better than before.

Orrin brushed himself off before looking back over at Dawn and her brother. Spotting Daniel, his eyes lit up delightedly, " You didn't tell me he was a tiny land-dweller" The merman said happily, not knowing the word for 'baby'. Already, the small child had won over his heart. Very careful not to startle Daniel, Orrin came over to them to see if Dawn needed any help taking care of him. He didn't know much about human babies, but he had helped his mother take care of his younger siblings when they were children.

“Well, if I ever have the chance, I’d probably go and see them.” She hummed happily and shrugged. “I bet they are just as handsome as you. Maybe a little less...” she looked to Daniel and she finished his putting on his new diaper. His eyes were large and full of wonder as he looked up to Orrin. He put his hands out happily, giggling with joy. He wanted to meet Orrin and fast. Dawn slowly picked up Daniel and she handed him to Daniel. “I think he likes you more than he likes me.” She smiled happily. Hopefully Daniel wouldn’t miss him too much when Orrin went home.

Orrin's cheeks flushed pink at her compliment, though he couldn't help but smile. " Maybe they are", He chuckled warmly, a hint of mischief in his eyes" You'll have to meet them to compare us." The merman smiled down at Daniel as he giggled." You're so tiny! And adorable" The warrior practically squealed in delight. He had a huge soft spot for all kids, but Daniel just melted his heart. As Dawn handed the baby to him, Orrin beamed and very carefully cradled Daniel to his chest. " Nah, I think he likes you more" He insisted with a chuckle, very gently tickling the baby's small feet " Don't you agree, Daniel?"

[Trots]

Daniel stuck his tongue out and made a somewhat farting sound with his mouth before giggling. He then continued to laugh and couldn’t stop, a habit Dawn had as well. He glanced to Dawn and smiled happily. He enjoyed Orrin already and thought he was a keeper. “Mhm.” Dawn smiled a little and shook her head. “He likes you a lot. He’s never giggled that much.” She shrugged and and yawned. “I’ll be back. I need to get him food. Poor thing must be starving. He hasn’t eaten in a day. My Father doesn’t do much.”

Orrin laughed warmly at Daniel, tickled at how happy the little boy was. He playfully stuck his tongue out and made a funny face to make Daniel giggle before glancing back at Dawn with a crooked grin. " Maybe you are right. He does seem to like me." The merman chuckled as he lightly bounced Daniel. Orrin nodded understandingly as Dawn explained that she needed to get him some food. " Alright, we will wait for you" He said cheerily, holding Daniel close to his chest, " Unless you would like some help?"

[Trots]

“Well, he’ll probably never forget you. Don’t set him down. He’ll begin to cry.” She walked out of the room and came back after a second. “And stay on here. I’m not risking my Dad seeing you.” She went back out and to the kitchen. She grabbed some apple sauce and a spoon, heading over to the living room to check up on her Dad. He was still asleep. She sighed in relief and walked back to her room. She locked the door behind her and she walked over to Orrin and Daniel, gesturing to her bed. “Go ahead and sit.”

" Won't set him down," The merman promised, giving her an assuring smile. He didn't want to inadvertently make Daniel cry- he wasn't sure if his heart could handle seeing the little guy upset because of him. Orrin nodded in understanding as Dawn mentioned her father; it probably wasn't a good idea for him to be caught up here, though Orrin still hadn't heard any sign of Dawn and Daniel's father.

Orrin lightly bounced Daniel and played with him until Dawn came back. As she motioned for him to sit on the bed, the warrior nodded before sitting down on the bed with Daniel in his lap. " What is that? Land-dweller food? " He asked, unsurely looking at the jar of sweet smelling mush Dawn had in her hand. Of course, Orrin had never seen applesauce before- he was used to eating primarily fish.

[Trots]

“This is applesauce. You can try it.” She sat down next to them and she opened the package, throwing the tin foil lid on a trash near her. She dipped some with her spoon and she held it to orrin’s mouth. “It tastes good. You might like it. I don’t eat it since it’s for Daniel, but you may like it.” She shrugged. “Tastes like apples. Just smashed. Daniel has no teeth so it works for him.”

" Applesauce.. tastes like apples," Orrin repeated slowly, wanting to remember the word. He stared at the spoon near his mouth unsurely, but decided to try it any way. As he tasted it, his nose wrinkled in an unintentionally cute way. " It's.... sweet. And mushy" He said, licking his lips, " It's kind of good! Never had anything like it before". Orrin rather liked this applesauce stuff, though it was a little strange. His stomach growled hungrily at the thought of food and his gaze wandered to the window towards the ocean. He couldn't wait to go out and catch some fish for dinner, though he couldn't really do that in his human form. He had no idea to get himself something to eat as a human.

Dawn smiled from him repeating her words and she perked up when he took the bite. His little nose wrinkle made her melt and she smiled cheekily. “Well, if you’d like me to get more for you, don’t mind asking.” She handed the little cup to Daniel who gladly took it. He reached his hands out for the little spoon and Dawn handed it to him. He then began to messily dig in. Dawn smiled and ruffled her Brother’s hair before hearing the loud grumble. Daniel giggled and Dawn smiled. “Hungry, Orrin? I have my dinner. We can share it. I only get one fish a night... want some?”
