" Okay" he smiled and Dawn take the sleeping Daniel from him. Orrin shimmied out of the window, then straightened his rather brightly colored Hawaiian shirt. With his unbuttoned shirt, ripped jeans and bare feet, the merman was strangely adorable in his own disheveled way. Despite his impressive height and muscularity, Orrin was almost like a kid in a way. He didn't know how to exactly fit in with humans and was a little naive about how human society worked. Though, he was rapidly learning a lot from Dawn about how to be more human. Pretty soon, he would be able to blend in almost completely with the "land-dwellers".

Dawn watched him with a lovey expression on her face. He was so adorable that she couldn’t keep her eyes off of him. She just, shut down. Daniel woke a little and looked to Dawn, giggling a bit. He put his hands on her face and Dawn spooked a little. She stepped back and sighed lightly, looking down to the little giggling boy. “Let’s go...” Dawn awkwardly took a step forward and began to make her way to the city. She wanted to tell Orrin. Though, she knew. She just knew he’d treat her differently after. She didn’t want that.

Orrin beamed at Dawn with his familiar crooked grin. He noticed how she looked at him like that, with that softness in her eyes. The merman felt his heart race just a tiny bit and his smile widened just a bit more. " Yeah," He nodded in agreement, walking alongside Dawn as they headed for the city. Orrin hummed to himself cheerfully, looking around at everything and trying to remember every single detail about the beautiful coast. " Beautiful." He remarked, " All of this is so beautiful. It's... different than the ocean, but still very pretty. I think I could stay up here forever, exploring." Orrin smiled at Dawn and Daniel warmly, realizing that he had more reasons to stay on land than just admiring the lovely scenery. He wanted to stay on land for both of them if he could.

If this were to be possible, Dawn would die of joy to have Orrin stay, though, she knew it wouldn’t go through with her dad... Dawn got chills down her spine and she could feel sadness start to floodthrough her. Therhought of her Father frightened her more than ever. Sister. She had to be a good Sister and keep her Brother happy so she pulled out a smile. “It really is. I work in a cafe not far. Minimum wage. Not too bad.” Dawn shrugged and crossed a road, putting a free hand out for Orrin.

Orrin looked interested as Dawn talked about her job. " What do you do at the cafe?" He asked, curious. The merman had no idea what minimum wage was nor how humans money worked. Merpeople didn't have any form of money; they bartered and traded for the things they needed.

As Dawn held her hand out, Orrin gently took it and let her lead him across the road. The large cars zooming along the road put him just a little on edge. They were large, foul-smelling metal beasts that flew by too fast, but what was worse was the noise. It made the merman want to cover his ears in disain. Though, he didn't and merely kept close to Dawn so they could cross the street safely together.

“I work in the back. Baking. Usually I sneak treats in my bag or give some to Daniel to eat. That’s usually my lunch.” Dawn smiled to him and sighed. She led them across the road safely, being used to all the cars and noise. She didn’t like the sounds of cars, but she didn’t care at this point. “I can teach you how to make some things.” Dawn said, looking to Orrin with a bright smile. “If you’re helping, my boss won’t mind.” She shrugged. “Maybe he might give you money too~who knows. He’s pretty chill.”

" Baking" He repeated the word and smiled happily, " I want to learn how to work at baking. Want to learn how to make things." Orrin knew that humans didn't need a warrior like him, so he wanted to learn some sort of trade while he was here if he could. As they crossed the road, Orrin still didn't let go of Dawn's hand as they walked for the cafe. He smiled down at her warmly, " Merpeople don't need money. If boss gives me money, you and Daniel can have it." Orrin's stomach growled hungrily, reminding him how hungry he was. He hadn't eaten since yesterday and he hadn't had a chance to go out fishing. The merman still had no idea how to get food the way humans did.

“Oh thank you~but really, I can hear that you are hungry. You use the money to buy food. I can also get you some at the cafe. It’s right here actually.” They arrived at a small building and there was a small crowd of people in the front waiting in line. Dawn squeezed through with Orrin and Daniel and made her way through the shop full of people. Dawn hummed, sighing happily from the smell. They were probably waiting for her, heh. She got in the back and she locked the kitchen door, setting Daniel down in a high chair. She quickly went to the fridge and she pulled out a cinnamon roll she had made the day earlier. She pulled off a small piece and handed it to Daniel who happily began to knaw on it. She then gave the large portion to Orrin. “I can show you once rush hour is over.” Dawn stated before grabbing her apron and putting it on. She then got to work, making dough for donuts.

" I'm hungry, but I'll be okay." Orrin chuckled softly, " Don't need money to buy food! Later, I'll go fishing like I promised. You and Daniel can use the more. If I get money, I want you to have it as a gift. " The merman followed Dawn into the cafe, his mouth watering as he smelled the baked goods. Beaming, he turned to Dawn with stars in his eyes. " What is this? It smells heavenly" He asked eagerly. As Dawn handed him the cinnamon roll, Orrin bit into it unsurely at first but then gave a strange happy noise that almost sounded like a little girl's squeal." THIS IS AMAZING! You are amazing! You must be magic~!" The merman devoured the treat in two bites then hugged Dawn from behind. He pulled away so she could work, but still beamed like a madman as she made the dough for doughnuts. "Thank you! I want to learn how to make this magic land-dweller food." He said eagerly, "Does all of your food taste like this?"

“A cinnamon roll.” Dawn smiled to him and cringed from the shriek but smiled a bit. “Oh I’m~” the hug from behind made her blush and she somewhat leaned into it before he pulled away. “Anyone could do it if they practiced... but thank you.” She smiled to him and watched as he ate it quickly. How on earth... she shook her head and nodded. “I will teach you. It’s not that hard~and eh. Some people don’t like my food and some people do. Really depends. Im glad you like it.” Dawn hummed happily and pointed to the fridge. There is more in there if you want it.” She said this happily and giggled when Daniel did. Daniel put his hands out to Orrin and yawned. “Daaaaaaaawn.” He whined a bit and Dawn glanced back, finally. Daniel never really spoke. He was a shy one, but not to the ones he liked most. He never really saw his Dad, so he emediately took Orrin in that place. “Dad!”
