Vivek didn't seem at all surprised by her reaction. Her gaze did finally fall back to the queen but it was almost a bored stare- like she'd heard this entire conversation before. She put the blade down on the table, her hand still on top of it. She was still testing her, pushing buttons. "You're not listening to me. The moment you try and command me like one of your guards is the moment you'll get yourself hurt or killed. Now you may have guards everywhere, surrounding this room, every metre of the grounds but I am willing to bet this blade can go through your throat before they can get here." At this point she wasn't even warning her, no she was just making statements. "But go ahead, execute me, see where it'll get you."

"I think you're forgetting quite a key detail here. I'm not here to kill you. I am not here to work for you either. I work with people. If you have the intention of making me work for you like one of your guards then I'm afraid you're going to have to deal with whoever you want me to kill on your own."

Evangeline

Evangeline brushed off her dress, before standing up. She took the wine with her as she began to walk around the room, every step she took slow and exaggerated as she watched Vivek carefully. She seemed to be in thought of what to do, how to go about this. She wasn't daft. She had a sword under her dress; you really think she'd allow herself to speak, in private, with an assassin and not bring a means of self defence? Though it was clear Vivek lacked those evaluation skills, she didn't expect her to. Evangeline would've been extremely impressed if she had commented upon it, anyways.

"Truly? You truly think that? I'm not a helpless child." The corners of her lips curved upward in a grin. "If you truly believe you could kill me, I encourage it." She turned her body to Vivek, looking her full-on. "Let me see you in action, then."

Vivek's gaze followed the queen for a few brief seconds. Her eyes lacked any kind of light or emotion but the threatening stare seemed to have melted away at least for now. The slight tilt of the assassin's head made it clear she was thinking, debating something, questioning almost. It didn't take long for her to come to some kind of conclusion however and this was conclusion was made obvious by the sudden shift in her attention- it'd had gone back to the blade on the table. She traced a finger down the side of the blade before picking it up again and putting it away.

She remained silent as her attention slowly fell back to the queen as she began to speak. The expression on her face was unreadable: it was somewhere between bored and emotionless. Suddenly another knife was drawn and within the split second, it was thrown with startling accuracy almost directly at the other female. Almost. Instead, it went just past her, narrowly missing at about neck height. "I've already said I have no intention of killing you right at this moment, especially when I could get paid for doing it later. I haven't taken up any job offers with you as the target, killing you would be a waste of effort."

Evangeline

Evangeline watched her movements, not batting an eye when the knife was thrown. She took the knife out of the wall it hit, and began to examine it instead of paying attention to Vivek. Amusement was clear in her voice, but it betrayed her face; which was stone cold. "You think you're the only assassin I've come face to face with?" She turned to her. "My dear, my siblings, though younger than me, hate me. They'd do anything to get the throne. You are not the only assassin I've seen, nor the most skilled." She drank the rest of her wine and placed it on a nearby side table, before stalking back over to Vivek.

"I will give you one more opportunity to make some money. You will start listening to me, or you'll leave." She held out the knife to Vivek, her eyes narrowed as he looked down upon her.

Vivek then threw another one whilst the queen was removing her previous blade from the wall. The second blade was actually close enough to possibly graze the skin. It too imbedded itself into the wall. She shook her head gently, looking up for a brief moment. "Do I think I'm the only assassin you've faced? Of course I don't." She informed. "Why would I? I'd get nothing from believing I am the only one and the most skilled in the world. I'd put myself at risk if I did."

The assassin took the blade back from her and she flipped it once or twice in a gloved hand. "I don't recommend touching that." She murmured, gaze still on the blade. She dodged the queen's question, not currently wanting to answer it; she was still thinking.
