the mark made lance come to a halt. he knew keith was galra, but he had never shown any... galra symptoms. it didn’t bother lance, just surprised him. he slowly smiled, slowly cupping keith’s face with his hand and rubbing his thumb over the mark. “wow, samurai, now you truly look like an cool, older, grizzled version of yourself.” lance laughed, and retracted his hand before it got weird. he quickly turned away, hiding the blush that began to spread across his cheeks. luckily, allura’s voice over the comms was a good distraction. “paladins, return to your respective lions immediately. lotor is headed our way, and we must face him. even with the castle half-running.”

he noticed his face grow warm as lance cupped his hands around it. he liked the touch of his thumb on his face. "im the same person," he smirked, but then his attention turned to the comms of alluras voice. "wait what happened to the castle?" he asked lance.

“oh, uh... yeah. there was some weird virus thing, the teledov nearly blew up and coran said if it did we would’ve all died. but pidge fixed it.” lance said, as if it wasn’t a big deal. they didn’t actually die, so he didn’t think it was major. “come on, samurai. let’s go take down lotor.”

Keith nodded, running off to his lion to fight lotor. he thought lotor was to be trusted- he kissed the princess.. but now they had learned the truth about him. "form Voltron!" he shouted over the comms when everyone was out of the hangar with their lions.

all the paladins did as told, forming voltron quickly as lotor approached. his ships stopped, and lance refused to listen to lotor plead for them to side with him. “your call, keith. what do we do?”

"attack!" he said through the comms. "hunk, shoulder cannon!" he said, a little frightened by all the ships lotor had on his side. why had he brought them all if he wanted them to side with him? he shook his head.

hunk summoned the shoulder canon, blasting it at lotors ships. they only moved out of the way before blasting towards them, beginning to fire. “keith, behind us!” lotor’s ship had gone behind them in the chaos.

he turned the bots head to look behind them. "lance, sword, pidge, sheild up," he said, being thrown forward in his seat as something hit the head of Voltron. it didn't do anything to extremely hurt him, just left him a little shook.

“come on, kaltenecker, we have to evacuate the ship!” lance shouted at the cow, nudging him into the red lion. the battle ended with lotor's demise, sure, but that didn't mean they weren't happy. lance was in shock that they were going to have to sacrifice the ship - something about a time rip and having to use the teluduv in the ship to close it. lance got into his lion once kaltenecker was in, putting on his helmet. “are we ready to go?” he questioned.

keith gathered up all of his stuff- which wasn't that much compared to the others. he basically only had his everyday clothes, his blade, a few other things and that was that. he ran over to his lion. "i'm ready," he responded to lance.
