he raised an eyebrow and followed keith's eyes. “well, yeah. it echoes in there and i was wobbling past. are your knuckles okay?” he questioned, stopping in his tracks. his arm fell and his hands moved to take both of keith's, turning them over and observing the redness.

he felt himself heat up as lance took his hands. "oh yeah.. i am fine. it's my way of getting rid of problems," he said. "no need to worry about me." he said.

skeptical, lance's gaze rose from his hands, meeting keith's eyes. “well... whoever it is, keith, you never know until you talk to them about it. being open with your feelings is the best thing you can do.” he said, almost sadly, as he pushed keith's hands down and resumed his position of wrapping his arm around him, beginning to walk again.

"but what if they dont like me back? What if they reject me? I don't want to feel alone," he said, being careful with his words for once. He put his arm around him again when they started walking.

“if they reject you, then now you know. knowing they don't feel the same way is better than always wondering, isn't it?” lance questioned. it was ironic for him to be telling keith this - since he had a huge ass crush on him. but he wanted keith to be happy... even if it meant helping him out like this.

"i guess. but i get all nervous sometimes when I talk to them. not that often but it does happen. and yes, they're on the ship," he said, looking down at the ground. they arrived at Lance's room quick enough and he kicked the door open once again.

“well... you can always tell them in a way they'll understand, if you're close. or just start dropping subtle hints.” lance suggested, a laugh escaping his lips when keith kicked opened his door. he wobbled to his bed and sat down. “maybe you should just randomly go for it. tell them you love them! if they don't understand, then they're too dumb for you.”

"I'm not the kind of person to do just tell them that I love them out of no where." he said, smiling softly as he sat down beside him. "i would end up embarrassing myself a lot, especially if they let me down." he said, his eyes drifting from Lance to the ground.

“keith...” lance said softly, bumping his shoulder. “you won't embarrass yourself. if you do, you have full permission to take out any anger you may feel on me. you deserve to be happy.”

"no, i deny the permit to vent to you. I feel like with all of what's going on and you not being able to walk properly I shouldn't put any more weight on your shoulders," he sighed. he took a moment to think before he spoke, wanting to tell him something.
