lance went quiet, hurt clear in his eyes as keith began to walk. he thought they were beginning to get along, but he was apparently wrong. he wiped away some tears that began to form, and started to walk. his hand guided him along the maze, eventually getting near keith — but he stayed behind him, sniffling quietly and looking down.

he had regretted the words he said the second they had left his mouth. he glanced backwards a few times to notice he had caught up to him, but stayed behind. he couldn't help but feel... sorry for him in a way. he stopped dead in his tracks, waiting for him to catch up.

lance looked up at keith momentarily, before crossing his arms as he walked beside him. he stared in the other direction, following him in dead quiet, before finally asking, “you really feel that way?”

he thought for a moment. he knew the answer was no- but he didn't want to seem too soft. "well uh.. no.. not really." he said, putting his arm around his shoulder in attempt to comfort him. "it was a spur of a moment, i wasn't thinking what I was saying, you were just really on my nerves for no reason." he said. it was his way of saying sorry- but not directly.

he nodded, leaning into keith's touch before they walked into a wall. “ow!” he exclaimed, jumping back. he stared at keith for a few seconds, then burst out laughing. “you walked us into a wall, you jerk!”

"first of all, i was trying to comfort you. also, i don't want to listen to your 'oh so funny' comments," he said, completely monotone and he turned when he found one. he continued walking by himself, wanting to punch himself in the face for being so... rude..?

he stopped laughing, and began to follow keith again. “you don't have to act so tough, you know. people have emotions and stuff, you don't have to pretend like you don't.” he said from behind keith, crossing his arms. he was quickly getting fed up with how he was being treated. he had gotten enough talk from shiro; now keith was acting almost the same way. “you're so scared of showing any emotions besides anger. it's getting old, keith.”

"leave me alone, lance. maybe some people don't like showing signs of weakness. I'm one of those people, okay?" he said roughly, pulling the headset off his head and throwing it at the ground, making him disappear in the virtual world. he stormed away and into the hall, sitting and sulking.

lance watched keith pull off the headset, trying to stop him before he left, but it was too late. behind keith, there was a note that said 'you did it!' and told them they had reached the end of the maze. he sighed, and took off his headset, ignoring the weird looks other paladins were giving them and following keith. “keith, keith!” he called out, picking up the pace when he was out of sight; only to find him in the hallway. “you... you can talk to me, buddy.”

he enjoyed the time alone with his thoughts but lance imteruppted him. "hey uh- i have nothing to say," he said, pulling his knees up to his chest and resting his head on them.
