marcella heard everything that happened. she felt only hatred and resentment towards john. she pulled open her doorand headed downstairs. “you can’t just leave your son and expect him to forgive you!” she shouted angrily. “why did you do it?!” she demanded. “don’t give me an answer like ‘oh, i needed a fresh start.’”

john turned his head as he saw a girl storm down the stairs before yelling at him. he clenched his jaw, glancing to michelle. now that river was gone, he could say the real reason. "i couldn't handle looking at him. i know, it was irresponsible and horrible of me, but not after what she did." he spoke, shaking his head whilst michelle just glared at him. "she cheated on me. when river was supposed to be spending time with her, she sent him to me with some sorry excuse of work, to go to him." he hissed. "i didn't want river to hate the woman i was leaving him with, so i didn't tell him. i left because i didn't want him to experience us fighting, and me taking that anger out on him. i now realize me leaving was the worst thing to do for him."

marcella sighed, walking up the stairs. this was why river was broken. all the pieces of the puzzle were beginning to match up. she knocked on the door, just hoping river would open the door. she widened her eyes, realizing that john and michelle were still together when kat was conceived. she sighed, looking down at her feet.

river sat on his bed, his head buried in his hands. everything had gone so bad, so fast. hearing a knock, he huffed. "go away." the male muttered, rolling over to bury his face in a pillow instead of his hands. he wanted to yell, to punch things, to cry, he had no idea. he wanted to let everything out but he couldn't. he wouldn't let himself. if he let it all out, it'd be real. and he really didn't need it to be real, not right now.

marcella sighed, slamming her door shut behind her. those simple words... she felt unneeded for the first time in a while. she pushed her face into a pillow. she wasn’t crying, just thinking. thinking about how she wabted to help river.

river eventually sat up and headed into the bathroom to take a shower, hoping it would clear his mind. michelle had kicked john out a while ago, but kat managed to get his number. she knew river may think about wanting to talk to his father again, and she didn't want there to be no way of finding him. sighing, kat moved to the kitchen and immediately began to cook a few different desserts as comfort food for river.

marcella walked down the stairs, her hair a mess. “ew.” she stated, looking at her reflection in the fridge. she put her pizzas in the fridge. “hey, mind if i make some mac and cheese?” she asked quietly.

kat turned her head as she saw marcella, offering a small smile before nodding her head. "yeah, go ahead." she murmured, moving some brownies onto a plate and sighing softly. "is he still in his room?"

marcella nodded quietly. "showering." she said, quickly whipping up the mac and cheese and walking back to her room, falling onto the bed and turning on her tv.

kat slowly nodded, watching as marcella went back up the stairs. she sighed quietly, collapsing onto the couch. after exiting the shower, river noticed some of his hair was beginning to fall out. just perfect. getting dressed, he slumped against his bathroom door, not even wanting to look at his hair right now.
