marcella smiled. “can’t i go too? unless you’re walking.” she shrugged, gesturing to her leg with a smirk. “y’know, i suck at rhat:” she shrugged, smiling.

river dipped his head in a nod. "if you want to. i didn't want it to seem like i was forcing you to come." he explained, kissing her nose before grabbing his shoes and tugging them on.

marci grabbed her shoes as well, walking to the door carefully. she took river’s hand and exited the house. “summer’s almost over, y’know.” she said quietly.

river's gaze turned to marcella as she mentioned summer, nodding his head. "i know." he mumbled, opening the car door for her and making sure she could get in alright before moving to his side.

marcella bit her lip. “junior year. holy crap.” she mumbled to herself as she got in the car and relaxed. she was scared for junior year, seeing as she could barely walk the halls.

river nodded in response, sighing slightly. he would be bald by the time that happened. beginning to drive, he glanced over to marcella. "maybe you should do home school until you can move your leg better." he suggested.

marcella heard his sigh and glanced over. she nodded. “yeah, e-school.” she shrugged. “it’d just be hard being cooped up in a house all alone.” she said quietly

river nodded his head, driving down the familiar driveway. "well, i can do it, too." he offered, glancing over to her before looking forward again. "it'd give me something to do during chemo, too."

marcella nodded eagerly. “and it’d give me something to do during physical therapy. and therapy.” she shrugged, running her hand down her leg. it was like it was paralyzed, except it moved a third of the time.

river hummed in agreement, parking near the part of the hospital he would be in. "ready?" he questioned marcella, exiting the car and crossing to her side before pulling the passenger door open. "do you need help getting out?"
