marcella nodded, leaning back. she glanced to river, before kissing his cheek. “you helped me with getting myself to go to therapy and i want to help you.”

river kissed her nose gently. "you know, it's probably not gonna be fun to just wait. i mean, i don't know how long it'll take and stuff." he mumbled to her.

marcella looked at him, shrugging. “i’m going to need more therapy.” she shrugged again, giving him a short kiss.

river nodded slowly, gently returning the kiss before moving his gaze back to the tv with a slight sigh, running his fingers through his hair.

marcella smiled at river, running a hand through her hair. she acted like getting shot was ‘fine’ because she was so much more scared for river’s surgery. but there was emotional trauma she had wedged deep within herself.

river was currently dressing himself before he would have to go to chemo. luckily, he had learned it was IV, so he could do really anything as long as he was sitting and staying fairly still. drying his damp hair with a towel, he tossed it into the basket before heading downstairs.

marcella was sitting on the couch, smiling as river came downstairs. “hey.” she greeted, standing up slowly and walking to him, ruffling his hair.

river watched marcella, smiling slightly as she walked. he gently kissed her forehead, placing his hands on her hips. "how are you feeling today?" he questioned, gently rubbing circles on her hips with his thumbs.

marcella shrugged with a smile. “i’m doing okay.” she shrugged, running her thumb up and down his jawline. “what about you?” she asked.

river nodded in response, smiling slightly when he felt her touch on his jaw. "a little sick, but nothing unmanageable. i have to leave in about five minutes." he murmured, glancing to the time to make sure he was correct.
