❁. ── RIKO
Image
━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━
❝ but if you're gonna go, make sure you hurt me just enough to ...
━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━

name riko -- japanese name meaning 'jasmine child'
    alias rookie, rook, roo
    age three years old
    gender cisfemale
    sexuality heterosexual
    rank abandoned pet

appearance riko is a pure white kishu ken, she was named after her white coat, which is the same colour of soft jasmine leaves. she has dark brown, almost black, eyes and a pink nose. her ears are large and pointed and her thin tail naturally curls over her back. she has short, yet thick fur that is soft to the touch. long-limbed with an agile build, riko lacks the ability to overpower others in physical strength as she has lean and wiry muscles made for speed and stamina. ( x x )
    scent spruce and rain

positive traits friendly, bubbly, productive, witty, genuine, generous, gentle, caring, passionate, creative, imaginative, obedient
neutral traits hopeless romantic, eager, terrible liar, extrovert , trusts easily
negative traits desperate, impressionable, gullible, reckless, anxious, hypochondriac, helpless, naive, ignorant, starry-eyed, needy, dependant, insecure
personality - doesn't ask for a lot, takes what she gets (she's not stubborn/persistent), but often tends to turn it into something more in her mind -- but she's insecure and dependant and requires others approval (quite needy in that way)
    - anxious & hypchondriac -- scared of being sick/dying
    - terrible at hiding emotions, just blurts out thoughts and feelings
    - basically scared of everything - that's what makes her reckless, her first instinct is to run - kind of just blanks out when scared - also scared of things like change, the future and being forgotten/not being loved

backstory riko was born to mana and akela in the heart of a bustling city. her parents were traditional and raised her and her siblings, ryu, rin and mari, with strict rules and little compassion. they wanted their pups to be strong and independent, for them to become the protectors of the humans who would eventually become thier families.
when the time came for riko to be adopted she didn’t feel ready, she till wanted time with her siblings and her parents, she didn’t want to leave yet. but, no matter how hard she tried to hide — under the beds, behind the couches — she was chosen by a new family. at the beginning it was terrifying, but she soon came to love the two humans who had taken her into their home. they gave her delicious food, comfortable beds and many toys to keep her busy. though, it would seem as if her life continuously refused to stay good because, all of the sudden, she felt a sudden panic set into the air. the sky began cloudy and grey and all the birds disappeared. after a couple of days, the humans left too.
a day passed of nothing happening, but then, in the middle of the night, the winds came. she hid under the bed, like she did as a pup and hoped that maybe this monster was one that couldn’t find her. but, she was wrong. the world had changed.. and she doesn't even know the extent of the destruction.

family mana (mother), akela (father) & ryu, rin and mari (siblings - unknown whereabouts)
romance none currently (probably has a little bit of love in her for everyone)

theme feel something - jaymes young

━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━
❝ make me feel something! something! show me that i'm human, oh !!

brown. he has a black snout and floppy ears. his tail has a bit longer
fur than his actual coat, and there are a few traces of the mustard ye

``+ traits; selfless, not afraid to get his paws dirty (figuratively and lite

``personality; stitcher is the kind of dog whos judged by the way he loo

it takes a lot to get his attention. before the hurricane had happened,

``backstory; born to chastine and emmanuel, deep deep into an alleyway, stitch and five other siblings had barely known what domesticated life as a dog was like. his parents taught them to be fierce and to protect one another as much as possible. up until age three, they had all lived on the street, scrounging, until animal control had found them, and had taken them in for vetting and adoption. they were all seperated and stitch had been adopted by a man who just wanted company with him in his apartment. stitch had come to love the man and would protect him as if he was his own sibling. when the storms came rolling in and the ran came down, it had all been a blur. when stitch had awoken, the man was gone.

``theme; immortals by fall out boy

    ▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬ [ riko ] ▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬

Before the storm hit the city things were much more simple. She had a warm bed to sleep in, toys to chew on and she got food every single day. Perhaps she should’ve known that nothing good can ever stay so good, but Riko was young and naive and she wanted so badly for her life to stay the same after the changes that took her away from her family. Maybe she didn’t see the warning signs. Though, she had been sure that there weren’t any. She was happy. Her owners were happy. They lived in a joyful peace. Until, that is, the two humans packed up their bags and left without a second thought, leaving the confused Riko all alone.

But, she wasn’t alone for long.. soon enough the strong winds greeted her and the hammering rain wouldn’t stop falling down in sheets outside of the walls of the house she was still trapped in. So, she did what any scared dog would do, she went to her safe place. It was still in the house, tucked away under her owners’ bed. She had curled up in the corner and shut her eyes tightly, too terrified to look outside or even leave the room. In her head she tried to imagine that she was just hiding from the loud vacuum rather than the terrifying storm that raged on outside and the crippling feeling of loneliness. Even if she wasn’t scared of the storm, she still didn’t want to roam around the house and see, once again, how empty and bare it now looked. It was abandoned, just like her. She felt like a ghost hidden away in this empty house and no one could see her, let alone save her.

Now, she was still under the bed, praying that this was all a bad dream in which she would soon wake from. Eventually, the storm passed after what felt like decades, the only reason she knew was because she could no longer hear the pounding rain or the wind that pummeled against the house. Riko opened her eyes cautiously and saw that only a sliver of light came from the edges of the bed. She felt a pang of fear ripple throughout her entire body. A small whine escaped through her maw as she crawled forwards, muscles aching from staying curled up for so long, but it seemed as if something was pushed up against the sides of the bed. Upon further inspection after she had approached the bloackage, she realized that it was all rubble. Chunks of the house had crumpled all around her as she had hid under the bed. Riko faintly remembered hearing loud crashing during the night, but she was half asleep and told herself that it was just a dream. She still didn’t want to face the cruel reality, that she was trapped in the space that used to give her comfort and protection.

Riko felt panic rising in her chest and her breathing began to quicken. But, her breath hitched in her throat and she viciously coughed as dust and dirt from the collapsed house got stuck to her mouth and throat. The white Kishu Ken turned her wide eyes to the only sliver of light she saw and reached her paw forwards to scrape at the rubble, but it was a large, solid chunk and she couldn’t tear away at it. So, she inched forwards carefully and braced her shoulder against the blockage and pushed with all her might. But, as she struggled, she couldn’t get a grip on the floor and her feet slipped, causing her to fall and bang her chin against floor. She let out a frightened yelp and swiftly backed away from the blockage before she could inflict any more damage upon herself. Riko pushed up against the far wall, her chin throbbing with pain and her heart fluttering like a wild bird trapped in a small cage. That was when reality truly dawned on her. She was trapped. She had no food, no water. And she was all alone...

Riko whimpered and then let out a distressed howl, though she couldn’t hold on to much hope, everyone had left, she was all alone and she knew it. But, somehow letting out these long howls made her focus less and less on her dire situation. So, the desperate female continued on until her throat ached just as much as her chin did.

``stitcher ((one

Postby mellovesyou420 » Sun Jul 01, 2018 3:48 pm

    ``stitcher

stitcher had never considered himself lucky up until this point.

what used to be a somewhat well fournished studio-like-house within a mediocre neighborhood, was now just sorry scraps of
wood, plastic and debris that were scattered around the tile floor. where two huge windows used to be, there was now a ga
ping hole. leafs and dirt had been flung all around the walls, leaving almost horror-like stains in the interior. despite the utt
er chaos that seemed to have crashed down on the house, it was eerily silent. calm. it was the irony that got to stitch the m
    ost.

before the storm had happened, stitcher had sensed a disturbance with his master. he was panicky and in a rush. stitch wat
ched at the master had quickly packed a bag, poured some food on stitchs bowl, gave him a quick pat on the head, and left.
stitch had not thought much of it, knowing master left quite often, but always returned. the problem was, he never return
ed. in his place, there were sirens, pouring rain, beating wind, and clouds. stitch had never been afriad of storms but, this
made him quite nervous. before he knew it, the power went off, the windows had shattered, and the winds and rain came i
    n. thats when stitch knew he had to retreat. quickly making his way to the bathroom, he crawled into the bathtub, and wait
ed the storm out, dozing off after a few hours.

he woke up to the sound of birds chirping and wood splitting. stitch had opened his eyes groggily. it was dark in the bathroo
m, he assumed the power was still out but, through the bathroom door he could see a chunk of pinkish orange light shine on
the hallway. that meant it was sunrise. the rottweiler had perked. his body seemed to ache, for he had never slept in the tu
b before. he got up, and streched his lower legs. after a couple seconds of gathering himself, he clumsily got out of the tub,
and trodded to the living room where the mess took place. master was still gone. stitcher was all alone. all alone. just as he
s always been. there was no time to sit and wait. he needed to see what damage had been done to the outside world. he be
elined toward the large hole in the wall. emerging from the house, he stopped to look around. debris was everywhere. wood
were left in chunks on the road. pieces of metal scraps were caught on what were left of trees and powerlines. stitcher coul
dnt believe his own eyes. he shook himself out of his daze and pressed onwards, determined to seek other animals or even b
    etter, find his master.

stitch had been roaming for about a mile before his ears caught sound of what heard to be a howl/whimper mix. stitcher sto
pped dead in his tracks. there were three houses surrounding him, but his instincts told him to go to the one on his far left.
he started to trot, but soon broke into a sprint when the cry had registered in his head as a scared animals. the house itself
was in ruins, much worse than what he had been in. there was still a bit of foundation and structure to the house, enough for
stitch to enter and locate where the cry was coming from. splinters had poked at his sides, taking tufts of fur with it. dull me
tal scraps dug deep into his paws as he searched but, it did not hinder him in the slightest. after looking for what felt like an
hour, stitch was able to find the reminents of what seemed to be a human bed, half broken with a large shelf toppled over it.
another howl could be heard from under it. his tail perked. "hello??" he barked loudly, hoping it was enough for the endanger
ed animal to hear. "hello? im stitcher and im here to help. dont you worry!" he barked again, even louder this time, sending h
is back muscles rippling. he found the safest path to where the shelf was, and stratagized a way to peel it off the bed without
crushing the animal within. shimmying his body in a triangular space between the bed and the shelf, stitcher put all his weight
on his back, and began pushing a part of the shelf upward. he could hear it creaking and guessed it was only a matter of time
before the entire thing broke. "hurry...theres a small crawlspace... go..! i cant hold....it for much longer..." stitch said, pain
ed through a locked jaw, spittle falling through gaps in his teeth and sweat starting to form on his brow. it was now or never
for the animal to escape before stitch let go.

    ▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬ [ riko ] ▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬

After several strangled howls from underneath the bed, Riko was only feeling more and more helpless. If no one could hear her, that meant no one was out there, so did she really want to escape? What would she do out in the city with the unstable buildings and the pure emptiness of it. It would be a struggle to find food, water and even shelter. Plus, what if another storm came? Admittedly, her chances for survival didn’t seem that great, especially on her own. The female swallowed past the lump in her throat and decided to come to term with her inescapable demise. If no one was helping her from underneath this bed she’d stay stuck. She had no food or water and she constantly felt a tickle in the back of her throat from the dust in the air almost making her cough. All of the necessities for life were being drained from her and there was no way around it. The only problem was that Riko didn’t want to die.. she had barely even experienced life yet, she hadn’t seen enough of the world to be happy and she hadn’t done enough to be pleased with her life. Plus, she was scared. She was absolutely petrified, but what could she do? Riko let out a long, helpless whine and lay down on the cold floor and stayed as still as a stone statue, letting the dust settle all around her.

Maybe she shouldn’t have given up so quickly, but she was scared and she had no clue what to do. The usually optimistic dog was now facing reality with the sliver of light on her face, the feel of dust settling on her fur and hearing the rubble beyond the bed shifting and claws clicking on the hardwood floors... Wait! There’s someone out there! she thought as her head shot straight up. She crawled forwards and let out another little howl, hoping that it was another dog and not some wild animal looking for food in the quiet city. She pressed against the blockage and listened for something to indicate that this creature was here to help her. At the sound of a greeting bark her tail began wagging furiously and her eyes grew even brighter when the dog spoke. His voice was calming as he promised to help her, “Thank you, Thank you!“ she yipped before her saviour even did anything. As she saw the blockage begin to move she kept on repeating those two words in a murmuring voice. Riko watched as the sliver of light got larger and she crouched down, ready to spring out from her prison at the dog’s command. His words came soon after that and she was already squeezing out after his first word, he didn’t have to tell her twice to escape while she still could. She pushed her head out and clawed her way through the small space. She gave her hind legs a final kick against the ground and went tumbling forwards, but it didn’t matter because she was free.

Riko stood up and shook out her white pelt, not even caring if there were smudges of dirt across her flank. She didn’t even take a moment to take in her surroundings before she turned on her hind legs and skipped back towards the male who had rescued her, “I can’t beleive you heard me! I thought that I’d be trapped under there forever and I’d never get out. I tried pushing the blockage away from underneath but it didn’t work and then I hit my chin!” she rambled on enthusiastically, though, at the mention of her chin she remembered the ache with a frown and lifted a single paw to rub at her face. Though, the Kishu Ken was ecstatic and all over the place and was soon moved on to a different subject, “You said your name was Stitcher, right?” she questioned, but continued speaking without pausing to allow the male to answer her question, “I’m Riko! How did you survive the storm? Is there anyone else or any humans left out there?” she asked in a soft voice, tilting her head to the side to actually give him time to answer the questions.
