Noah nodded. "I really miss her parents though. It's hard for me too. After she left, the helped me through a lot." He told James and picked up his dog. "I mean yeah I do want to get back together but... She's going back to New York soon. It will never work James. Maybe you could help?" He asked quietly and looked up when he saw Rose.

James listened to him quietly. He nodded. "I know." he murmured. "I'll see what I can do." he tapped a boot on the ground. "I'll work my southern magic." he chuckled. "You, just try to get close to her again."

Rose had decided to head to the small cafe in town. She already didn't like being in that farmhouse alone, and decided a coffee would be good for her. And seeing everyone would just be better now than tomorrow at the funeral. Cutting through the park was the quickest way. The farmhouse sat on the edge of the very small town, the cafe was only about a 10 minute walk- cutting through the park made it a bit faster. She gripped the strap of her high end cross body purse, walking through the park she spotted Noah again, and this time James.

"I have to go to work... Wanna come and get a free coffee or something?" He asked and stood up. "You can also watch my dog... she doesn't have a name yet so you can name her too." He told him quickly and stood up. He started running towards the cafe and went inside and got straight to work. He came just as rush hour started so he was super busy. He was making drinks and then trying to figure out how to spell the people's names on the side of the cup with an old black sharpie.

(hey hun, if I don't reply right away. I'm usually busy crafting or replying to someone else.)

James nodded, "sure. I'll watch the pup too." he said. James saw Rose walk through the park too, assuming that was what Noah was so quick to leave about. James thought about it deeply, not knowing what to say to Rose, yet. But he knew he would soon have to play matchmaker.

Rose saw Noah leave, leaving James and the pup alone. She wasn't for sure what Noah all said to James and if he would even want to talk with her. Rose headed towards the cafe, walking inside and looking around. At first she was crowded already with older people who knew her parents and people who knew her from high school, and they all wanted to chit chat and talk away.

Noah saw people crowding around Rose. "Give her some room." He yelled. Everyone moved away a bit and stared at Noah. He went back to work. He made so many drinks that they ran out of cups. Someone had to go find some so he was sitting at the counter, taking orders for when the cups came.

Rose looked up, surprised to see Noah here. And James walking in right behind her. "I'll get my free one later. " James told him, giving Rose a quick nod in greeting. Rose looked to Noah again. "I'll wait until the rush dies too." She said. "How long have you worked here?"

Noah shrugged, "5 years. I got the job the day you left." He murmured and grinned a bit. "Is it nice in New York?" He asked and looked at James. He was running out of conversation ideas. He looked back down at Rose. "Is it nice to be back down south?" He asked her softly.

James gave him a nod in slight encouragement to Noah. He leaned against the counter.

Rose watched him quietly, knowing he was leaning on James for encouragement a bit. "New York is nice. There's always things to do. Very busy." she replied to him. She glanced at James for a moment and then to Noah again. "It's alright to be back here. It's a bit warmer than what I'm use to."

"James, leave." He muttered and rubbed his eyes. "Yeah, it's supposed to get 100 degrees Fahrenheit this weekend." He told her and yawned. He hadn't got much sleep for a few weeks so he was always tired. "Were you friends with Derrick or did you only know him because of me?" He asked her softly.

Rose watched James slip out of the cafe. She then looked back to Noah in a surprise that he asked her a question like so. "A little bit of both." she told him. She frowned for a moment, watching him carefully with her light brown eyes. "If you don't want me to come, just tell me. I rather be told not to come than be there and feel like I shouldn't be."
