" Look, I can't let you leave like this." The young woman said, gently putting her hand on his arm " You won't make it out of the currents in the shape you're in. " Her tone was caring and filled with concern. Though Roxie didn't know Kae, she still wouldn't feel right risking himself like this. The young merman was already weak from his injuries; there was no way he could survive out in the water for very long. Roxie gave a small sigh, knowing that she was going to have a difficult time convincing Kae to accept her help. " I know you don't belong on land or whatever, but please just let me help you. Those cuts need to bandaged and I'm sure you have a pretty nasty headache after being unconscious for so long." The dark-haired woman stood and brushed the sand from her leggings," Of course, i can't force you to accept my help. If you want to risk going out like this, then that's up to you" she shrugged, attempting to sound nonchalant.

[ Hey sorry it took so long, work go crazy with the holiday week, all good now though. ]

Kae flinch slightly when he hand touched his arm, not enough to pull away out of her grasp but enough to where she could feel the muscles twitch to the foreign touch. While his kind did touch one another it was more sliding tail fines and light running as they swim, to reach out to someone like she had was generally considered a threat. Of course, he assumed the human didn't know and let the touch slide from his mind as he listened to her words. "Land happens to be a rather foreign thing to my kind, even though we can take this form it's considered taboo to do so. But you're right it'd probably take the rest of my energy to change back and with the state, I'm in now trying to get home wouldn't end well for me." Kea replied with a bit of hesitation, realistically he knew he needed help or he'd be stuck where he was for who knows how long, but it was hard to accept that not just from a human but from anyone. "If you help me I'll find some way to repay you," He started after hearing her say she couldn't force her help on him and even though she was offering it seemingly for free his kind didn't do anything for free so he was going to apply that here as well. "I'm Kea." He added after a moment realizing the pair had yet to introduce themselves.

Roxie noticed how Kae flinched as she lightly touched his arm. It didn't really surprised her that the merman was a bit skittish, but she couldn't help but feel a strange stab of remorse in her chest because it seemed that she was the one that frightened him. As Kae spoke, suddenly the dark-haired woman slowly began to understand why he was so upset about being stuck on dry land. Roxie's expression softened a bit more and she gave a determined nod. " Well, let's see if we can get you healed and back home as quickly as possible, eh?" She said, offering her hand to help him up, " I live in a little cottage just down the beach a piece. Do you think you can walk?" Roxie asked. If she had to, she could carry Kea to her small home if she had to, but knowing the merman he probably wouldn't have been comfortable with that. Roxie smiled a tiny bit as he offered to pay a her back somehow, " You don't have to do that, I'm glad I can help you out" She said with a shake of her head and a small chuckle, " I'm sure you would have done the same for me." The young woman's smile widened a bit more as he introduced himself, " Nice to meet you, Kea. I'm Roxie and this is Apollo." She motioned to the large dog at her heels.
