"Some of the siblings still fight, but only when they want to. Most of them have positions in the Royal Guard, now." Leah said. "Yes, we have two new brothers. Ren is two and Gavin is one." She explained with a smile.
As they rounded the corner of the cabin on the middle deck, she glanced down to see Reis and Neveah. The two were speaking to eachother, but it did not seem to be going well for Reis. She watched with a smirk as Neveah shouted at her fiance.
"I want you to listen to me." Reis reached for her hand, but let his hand fall to his side as she backed away. "I love you, Neveah. I love you more than anyone else in this world!" He promised. Unfortunately for Reis, those three words were far too late. Leah's work was already done.
"Ten years, eh?" One of the crew laughed, slapping Reis on the back. "You're a few years late on that one!"
"This is none of your business." Reis growled, shoving the man away. With another cruel laugh, the man shoved him in return, sending Reis sprawling onto the deck. There, he delivered a sharp kick to Reis side. Gasping, Reis tried to roll away, but found a boot aimed right at his face. The kick hit his nose, causing a nosebleed to flow instantly.
Leah did not intervene as Reis was shoved down. However, as the kicking began, she approached the violent scene, not wanting him to be too weak upon arriving in Sevyria.
"Stop!" Leah's voice cut through the air like a whip, catching the attention of her crew. She stood beside Neveah, putting an arm around the girl's shoulder. "Reis has done much wrong, but he does not deserve this." She said. He deserves so much worse, She thought, knowing that Aris would soon take care of the young outcast. "Take him below deck." She ordered, not wanting Neveah and Reis to have any chance at reconciliation. The men nodded, dragging Reis to his feet. A trail of blood dripped from Reis nose as he was dragged away, his head still spinning from the kick.
"I apologize for the violence of my men-" Leah said to Neveah, stepping back to survey her expression. "Are you alright?"
“So you really are a princess.” Maverick's eyes burned both with anger and hurt. "When were you planning to tell me; before or after I got killed trying to protect you?”
