"We'll speak to her now and she'll agree, it's for the best." murmured one of them, "You might as well put her on the table." Mary was fighting to stay awake. She pricked her ears as she heard voices from the hallway.

"No." he said, he looked over when he heard voices from the hall, he held Mary close, wondering who it was that was coming, he guessing it might be Lusamine, but even if she agreed, Mary still didn't.

[Boomer]

Maria came inside with Lusamine right behind her. She tilted her head as she looked at Mary. "What's wrong?" she asked, "You seem... off." Mary couldn't speak that well as she laid there. Lusamine put her hand on Mary's cheek. "Why is she sedated?" she asked, looking to Jacob. Maria flicked her tail as she stood there.

"We had sedated her so I could groom her without stressing her out." Jacob admitted as he looked at them, "And they examined her after and found out what was wrong with her back. Then they sedated her again to do the surgery, even though she doesn't want it." he explained as he looed at the pair.

[Boomer]

"Wait, wait, wait." said Lusamine quickly, "Surgery? You want to do back surgery?" She petted Mary as the Furfrou fell asleep. "It'll stop the pain, won't it?" she asked quietly, "Then she can run and do whatever she wants, correct?" One of the men nodded to her. "That's correct." he answered, "She'll be on bed rest for eight weeks." Maria touched her nose to Mary's underside. "She's got pups." she finally said, "We didn't want to tell you all... but it's the truth."

"Can you do the surgery without risking the pups?" Jacob asked as he held Mary gently, he was guessing that is why she didn't want the surgery in the first place. He looked at Maria, wondering what she thought of all this, he also wondered how she was feeling about them sedating her to begin with.

"We won't be close to them at all." one of the men replied, "The longer she's under, the harder it is on the pups. We plan on doing it carefully, but quickly. If we do it now, she won't have to be sedated again." Maria nervously flicked her tail; she wasn't sure what to do. "If she's already out, might as well get it over with." said Lusamine quietly, "But I don't want anything done to those pups."

Jacob sighed and gently laid her on the table, he nodded to Lusamine before he headed out, his job was done there, and he didn't want to stick around and see the surgery. He also was fairly sure Marie was going to bite him for what he did, but he didn't mind, at least the firfrou would be more comfortable now

Lusamine and Maria left the lab as well as Mary was prepped. They walked just behind Jacob as they headed for the elevator. "Sorry I left your Pokemon..." said Maria quietly, "But I knew something wasn't right."

Jacob looked over, surprised, "You are apologizing to me?" he asked, startled, "I thought you were going to bite me." he said with a soft chuckle.
