xxxxxx”yeah, I feel like I’m paralyzed!“ his head tipped back, the hand holding the microphone to his lips was stuck in the air, huffs of gasping breath falling from his lips as a roar went through the crowds. once those few words had fallen from his lips, the song—and the concert—was at its end. a quick glance at his watch told him the concert had lasted a total of five hours, and the crowds gave a last roar of approval as he straightened, moving the microphone back underneath his helmet to his lips as he waved to them. ”thank you, everyone, for an amazing show—and i cannot wait for another in june!” they scream, and he laughs, but with another last wave he makes his way off the stage and pulls off his helmet, taking a few deep breaths. ”that was a great show, kid, keep it up.” simon shouts over the noise of the exiting crowds, clapping nightshade on the shoulder, and he grins, running a hand through his hair, damp with sweat. ”oh, yeah. we’re going to blow the roof off in june for sure. did you see how many people were in the stadium?” simon’s laughing, nodding, and the two walk to the lounge, his helmet tucked underneath an arm.
xxxxxx”now, just wait here—i’m sure kim would like to meet you before you meet her client.” simon speaks and nightshade nods, taking a towel and drying his hair, wiping down the inside of his helmet before he moves to flop down on the couch, placing it in his lap before taking a few deep breaths to calm the rapid beating of his heart, accelerated from the concert. simon and kathryn enter, followed by a woman he doesn’t know—kim, he assumes. she’s short, pretty, with long dark hair spilling down her back. she gives him a bright smile and shakes his hand, introducing herself as kimberly amantha, or kim, for short. they chat a bit about what to expect from her client—he’s a singer, he gathers, from ukraine, and she says he’s got talent, that a partnership for a little bit to make an album—or two, she says—would really boost his popularity among the music industry. nighstahde rubs his chin, thinking, for a moment. ”i have to see what he’s got, first, kim—i can’t make any promises. i have a trip for a concert in london in two weeks. but i’ll tell you what—i’ll meet with him today. bring him to nightshade records, my recording studio tomorrow, and i’ll see what i can do. if i think we could make an album, then we’ll do it—and i’ll even bring him to london to give my fans a taste.” kim happily agrees, and slips out to go and get her client from the stadium. bart, one of the security, and kathryn, accompany her.
xxxxxx”i hope, simon, that what she says is true—that the kid has talent.” nightshade sighs, before pulling on his helmet. ”me, too.” he agrees.
