>>Peter was pretty dang livid when he woke up the next morning. He hadn't realized that when he smacked into the side wall on his way home he had broken his cellphone, so now he was running late for school AND he didn't have a phone to get him through the day. Oh well, he thought, at least I have chemistry today. Our teacher's pairing us for a bit three week project, so hopefully I'm with Ned again. With that thought, Peter rushed out the door and saw his watch said that he had twenty minutes to get into the building and up to class. Thankful for his increased speed, he rushed into the building under ten minutes, found his locker and stuffed his books he didn't need into his locker, and got to class two minutes before the bell rang before he looked up and saw that his chemistry teacher had already made the pairings and wanted them to switch seating immediately. Oh crap. He thought, because as soon as he looked up he saw the name Katrina Delgado and immediately paled. He stood from where Ned and he had been sitting, and turned around to head to the back of the classroom and put his bag next to his seat, sliding next to Katrina herself. He gulped and tightened his fists, trying to calm his raging emotions while his teacher passed out the giant packets before choosing his next words very carefully. "So, um..." he trailed off. "Human Chemistry or Nuclear?" he simplified.

Katrina awoke the next morning with a headache,an the sun shining in her eyes. She blinked,covering her face as her eyes adjusted to the sun.When she could finally open them properly and get a good look at her surroundings the girl realized she had fallen asleep on the balcony. Sitting up she gathered her blanket and laptop and headed inside,mentally scolding herself. This wasn't the first time she had done this of course,but every time this happened she ended up with a headache the rest of the day for god knows what reason. She quickly got a shower and changed into a baggy sweatshirt and a pair of sweat pants,grabbing her bag and basically running out the door. Once she made it out of the apartment building though,she turned her phone on and popped her earbuds in,playing her music obnoxiously loud. It took her a few minutes to make it to school,but she still had a good amount of time to dillydally in the halls or whatever,which is just what she did. After stopping at her locket to get the books she'd need for her first few classes of the day,she stopped to talk to a few of her friends before heading to Chemistry. When she made it to the room,she groaned,having forgotten they would be starting a project today,and getting partners for it. She didn't really enjoy anyone in this class to the point of wanting to be their partner,so she just kinda hoped for the least obnoxious person. Glancing over the new partner list she rolled her eyes. "Great,just the person I didn't want"Katrina grumbled,taking a seat all the way in the back corner so she wouldn't get in trouble all the time for not paying attention. As the minutes passed,she adjusted her earbuds,turning them up a bit,beginning to doodle absently on a spare piece of crumpled notebook paper she had in her backpack.She wasn't paying much attention to what her hand was doing,so she didn't notice she had begun to doodle Spiderman's logo,like the nerd she was. When she her hand began to cramp she stopped,and looked at her work with a slight blush,jumping a bit when Peter sat down next to her.She quickly shoved the piece of paper back in her backpack,taking one of her earbuds out,slightly listening to the teachers instructions before turning her attention to Peter as he spoke to her."Nuclear,who cares about Human Chemistry?It's boring" The girl said flatly,flipping through the large packet before shoving it towards the boy sitting next to her.

Peter pursed his lips, partially because doing Nuclear over Human meant that they'd have to spend a LOT more time together outside of class working on this, and the other part because he forgot how much she didn't like Peter instead of Spider-man. Okay, her being this cold to me should help, cause it'll keep her off my trail. It usually wouldn't be an issue, but seeing as he caught her doodling his logo on her notebook page with his enhanced vision, this whole project felt a tad bit more dangerous. "Well, nuclear chemistry will take some more time, but I enjoy that one too, so when do you want to meet up?' he asked. "We could do after school at my place until like three or four? If it's any later that'd be fine, but my Aunt May might force you to eat dinner with us." he joked, trying to at least somewhat lighten the mood from the cold air that had settled between them. He remembered first seeing Katrina at such. He also specifically remembered accidentally spilling his milk carton all over her while he was messing around with Ned, which could definitely be an explanation as to why she didn't like him that much. He didn't understand why she could still be so angry though, as he had immediately apologized right after and didn't think she'd still feel like hating him after all this time (Okay, well the incident had happened at the beginning of the year, and it was only March, so she definitely did have a reason to).

"Ya that's fine. . .I guess."She mumbled,not really listening to what he had to say.A few minutes of silence gave her the time to actually process what she had agreed to,and her gaze shot to him,eyes narrowed a bit.Though she said nothing,it seemed like she had wanted to take back her agreement but just didn't for reasons unknown to even her. Katrina was dreading this project now even more than she had been earlier. Spending time away from the streets meant she wouldn't get to see Spider-man much anymore unless she dared to go out at dusk,which she normally didn't since that wasn't a very safe time for anyone to be out unless they wanted to be jumped by people a lot more dangerous than herself. Forcing herself not to think about that at the moment,Katrina pulled out her phone and slid it over to Peter,showing the create a new contact screen."Put your phone number in my phone,and give me yours so I can put mine it. It'll be easier this way in case something comes up and one of us has to cancel..." She trailed off for a slight moment,just kinda staring at him.After a few moments of silence passed the girl turned back to her bag,digging out a note book and scribbling down the apartment buildings address and her apartment number."We can meet at my place sometimes too I guess. Tomorrow would be fine,so we're not bothering your aunt all the time." She even surprised herself at this,sure normally she helped with projects to the best of her ability but most of the time she never invited her partners to her house,especially not ones she wasn't too fond of but there was no taking it back no.She tore out the piece of paper and basically shoved it in his hands,picking her pencil back up doodling once again. It wasn't that she disliked Peter,more of,she wasn't that fond of him,especially after he spilled milk all down her favorite hoodie. That had not been a pleasant day for her,and it was by pure luck on his part that she hadn't decided to pummel him into dust afterwards.The teacher began to speak again,and she perked her head but after realizing it was just about when certain parts of the project would be due,she just kinda tuned his voice out,paying more attention to what she was doodling,which wasn't really anything this time,but in the upper right hand corner there was another Spider-man logo,this one a bit more detailed,though smudged as if it was an older drawing,which indeed it was.

"Yeah, you're house, that sounds good." he said, taking her phone and putting his contact information in her cell phone. He sent himself a text as well so that he could program her into his phone. "Could you send me your address or would you rather we meet up after school and walk there together?" he asked her. Peter also caught a glimpse of his logo once again, and decided his self just couldn't contain not talking to Katrina throughout the period. Oh, so, you're a fan of Spiderman then?" he asked, smiling a bit to himself as he thought of their previous encounter. "He's a pretty cool guy, I've seen some people post viral videos of him here and there." Peter knew he was digging himself into a hole, but he really wanted her to see that he wasn't just an annoying little nerd from school. He didn't know why he even cared so much about her opinion of him. It could be because he wanted her to like him as Peter and not just Spiderman.

Katrina gave a slight shrug."We can just walk to my place together after school tomorrow."She wasn't really paying much attention and it was easy to tell by the tone of her voice,but at the mention of Spider-Man she perked up,a slight smile forming on her lips."Ya,I guess. I wouldn't really consider myself a fan of his,more of an acquaintance of his,who may or may not slightly admire him."She explained,snickering a but as he mentioned the viral videos on the internet.Katrina turned her head away from him,putting her pencil down."I didn't peg you as the kind of his who actually used the Internet,Peter. I'm glad you keep up with at least some of the current events."She leaned back in her chair,putting her hands behind her head."After school today,Before we head to your place,you wanna grab some food?We could stop at Frankie's subshop if you want,I'll pay this time around" she suggested,glancing at him out of the corner of her eye,still with that same slight smirk upon her face.She did have ulterior motives in asking if he wanted to go there,but it wasn't anything horrible,just her wanting to take a bit more time outside to see of Spider-Man would show up,there was also the possibility she wanted to spend more time with Peter now that she knew they had something in common,but she wouldn't admit to it if it were true.

Peter smiled, very genuinely, as he heard her suggestion for Frankie's. "That sound like an excellent plan. Frankie's is the best." he answered her, ignoring the fluttering he felt inside his abdomen. "Though you really don't need to pay for me. My Aunt would tell me that it's very "ungentlemanly of me to let the lady pay." And I really don't like facing the wrath of my Aunt May." he teased with a smirk. "And of course I love the internet," he responded after remembering her comment on his mention of Spiderman, "how else would I be able to get through my Calc homework without falling into tears?" he winked. He fiddled with his webshooters that he seemingly now adays kept underneath his jacket at all times, especially after the run in with the giant lizard a few months back. Even now he felt uneasy that he was being watched, but Kat did help lessen the anxiety he felt with evil villains lurking around him. The bell finally rang, easing him out of his own thoughts as he watched the students around him pack up. "So, Frankie's after school then the project, right?" he asked, putting his own belongings in his bag before standing, debating whether or not to help Katrina with her own things. He had a feeling she liked to not be suffocated by others' presences, but he also felt the need to be the best gentleman Aunt May could teach him to be. Speaking of which, he slyly ran a hand through his hair in order to try and make him look more put together than he did when he sprinted into the class.

His words earned a slight smile from the girl,and she had to force back a chuckle. Maybe this wouldn't be so bad after all."We don't have to tell her I payed,it's not a crime if you keep secrets from her. I don't tell people stuff all the time."She sat up a bit straighter in her chair,sliding her notebook back into her bag as she noticed the bell was about to go off.her smile grew a bit bigger as he spoke once again about Spiderman."I can understand that. Calc is the worst"Katrina was currently not doing so hot in Calculus,mostly because she hated the teacher and refused to even try but that was besides the point.She fell silent after that,watching Peter out of the corner of her eye. The fact that he was messing with something under his sleeves puzzled her,and she made a mental note about it,her gut instinct telling her that bit of information might come in handy some time in the future. She was so deep on her own thoughts that when the bell rang she practically jumped out of her chair.With a flushed face she finished gathering her things,giving a nod to Peter."Yup,that's the plan. I'll just meet you at Frankie's. I've got to see someone after school for a quick minute and then I'll be around."She gave him a wink of her own before sauntering out of the room,a few of her friends meeting up with her,their chatter mixing with the loud hallways.The rest of the day went by without a hitch,she saw Peter again during fifth,which was gym,and confirmed their plans for after school again,which drew the attention of his friend Need who was seemingly flabbergasted that she and Peter were actually getting along. When the last bell of the day rang for dismissal Katrina basically bolted out of the building,dashing down the street,not caring who or what she ran into.The girl skidded to a halt around the usual spot she ended up running into Spiderman,and just kinda stood there biting her lip. After roughly a good ten minutes she gave up on waiting and headed down to Frankie's,out of breath and her hair wild from running.

Peter was a little miffed with himself. He had completely forgotten that today was his free period at the end of the day, so he texted Kat to tell her to go to Frankie's without meeting up with him because he'd already be there. This did help with his Spiderman duties though, so he got a few "neighborhood spiderman" duties in before their meetup, such as helping the police with a bank robbery without them finding out that he was involved. He knew that going to where he and Kat usually met with him in his spandex costume was a bad idea, so he ditched the idea before heading to Frankie's after his little adventure. He was quite a bit early, so just to humor her with his hero counterpart's presence, along the way Peter left a little "web art" as Ned likes to call it, leaving an abandoned telephone with the sign $20 on it, knowing she'd probably get a chuckle out of it. Being a boy though, he definitely didn't realize that he made Spiderman go through the same path to Frankie's, and the thought never once passed his mind all the way up to him entering Frankie's, once again fiddling with his webshooters. Though the art from earlier never crossed his brain, somehow trying not to let her see his shooters became heavily important, but not important enough for him to take them off like he probably should. He quickly ordered an Italian sub with some fries as he sat at a table and waited for Katrina.

As the girl passed the old telephone booth,she paused,her face turning a slight red as she noticed what was on it. Katrina snorted,shaking her head,beginning her trek to the sub shop again. As she walked into the shop,she still had that dreamy smile on her face that she always seemed to have after she parted from Spiderman,though most the time no one was around to see it that she actually knew. This time though,Peter would be there to witness it,but with her mind in a whole nother place she walked in,and gave him a slight wave,just ordering some fries for herself before sitting down at his table."Hey,sorry I took longer than I thought I would. . .the person I was supposed to meet didn't show so I waited around a bit just in case. . .turns out he seemed to know I was coming down this way and left me a little note,so. . ."She trailed off,not write sure why she was telling him this,or why her face still felt hot,and was probably still red. Katrina didn't say anything more though,as their food came,and she quickly picked up the tab before letting Peter have the chance,paying with the same twenty dollars she had received yesterday,so basically Peter was paying for it without being the one to hand over the money anyway. She nibbled on her fries,seemingly lost in her own thoughts at this point,that stupid dreamy smile back on her face
