The school year had just begun. Yes, of course, it's awful, but it's even worse this year. Students, teachers, and family alike have all been just.. Disappearing from sight. No one understands what the cause or even what even a motive is for the mass kidnappings. The tension is on, and everyone's fearing if they're next. Along with that, odd red monsters have begun to appear all over as well. They seem to just eat things like starving beast. A table outside a cafe? Down the hatch.
Now, there's a group of four students. They refer to themselves as "Beetles." When asked why, they respond with the fact that beetles all have different strong suits, just like each of the students have. They've found out first-hand all the awful things that could happen to a human, and decided that enough was enough. They'll be the next heros of the town. They'll save everyone, and make their families proud.

Here's the quick and simple reason that people have been kidnapped. There's a group of insane self-proclaimed scientist, who wish to find a fabled legend among the town. It's said that years back, there once was a creature named "Medusa." She was able to communicate with snakes and turn people into stone. It's also said that she'd fallen in love with a human, and produced a child. This means, the medusa had birthed more of her kind. The scientist wish to find the secret of the Medusa, even if there's only one known left in the town. They want to kidnap everyone until they find whomever holds this power and find out their secrets. They need it. At any cost.
