river relaxed a bit as she didn't seem too upset. "i probably won't be back until really late, or morning, even." he admitted, placing some stuff on the bed to sort out later. "he was, but he went off to go do his own stuff." he explained, taking a seat to take a break and talk to his lovely woman. "how are all of the babies doing? our little angel?"

marcella sighed. “he’s doing his own thing right now.” she told kat as she pulled the phoen to her ear again. “she’s been sleeping for a few hours.” she said quietly. “natalia and nora, along with laker and effie are teething.” she paused. “you took your bike. be safe, okay?”

kat sighed, but smiled and thanked marcella before moving away so she could talk to river alone. river listened to marcella, humming slightly. "yeah, i didn't want to take the car in case you had to rush somewhere with eva." he explained, running his fingers through his hair.

marcella continued to make dinner as they talked. “you’re sweet. i love you.” she murmured into the phone as she put the pan in the oven. “i also made cookies.” she said with a small laugh at the end.

river smiled at her voice, relaxing back into the chair. "i love you too, beautiful." he murmured happily, eyes roaming the hotel room. at her words, he groaned playfully. "man. i'm missing out." he chuckled softly.

marcella sighed. “yeah, i really miss you, even if it sounds cliche.” she said with a grin, although he couldn’t see her. “where are you, anyways?” she asked finally.

river grinned at her words, shaking his head even though she couldn't see. "i miss you too, love. i'll try to finish up quick." he promised. at her question, river hummed, yawning slightly. "a hotel, not too far into town." he murmured.

marcella smiled. “okay, just wondering. we’ll talk tomorrow, right? i think i’m crashing at your parents house.” she shrugged, hearing evangeline start crying. “out angel has awoken”. she told him as she picked her up.

river smiled as he heard the faint cries. "alright beautiful. be safe, i love you. and our little angel." he spoke with a soft grin, happy that he had some time to talk to marcella.

marcella had an idea pop into her head. “okay, i put you on speaker.” she said with a grin. “say hi to eva.” she stated, pinhing the girl’s cheek. she was so close to saying her first word, and marcella wanted it to be “dada.” or maybe “dad.”
