michelle gently rubbed marcella's shoulder, river watching her sadly. "kat's with maddox." he informed his mother quietly, michelle nodding slowly. she kissed the top of marcella's head, moving to her son and gently observing him.

marcella stood up. “where’s the bathroom?” she asked, needing to throw up again. she looked in her bag, finding a container of mints and putting them in her pocket.

michelle paused to think. "just down the hall on the left." she murmured to marcella, helping river adjust his position to sit up more.

kat woke up from movement in the room, relaxing as it was just a nurse tending to maddox's room. kat sent her an apologetic smile, the nurse returning it before quietly leaving. glancing over to maddox, she sighed. "you're stupid." kat mumbled, carefully leaning over the sleeping male to gently kiss his cheek.

marcella ran down to the bathroom, tossing up her food. she came out of the bathroom crying. as she came back into the room, she wiped her eyes and sat down.

maddox woke up, his medicine worn off. “oh, hey, beautiful.” he greeted. “and why am i stupid?” he asked with a small grin.

river frowned as marcella ran off before turning with tears. he sighed, lightly patting the space next to him. "come here." the male murmured quietly, watching the girl.

kat raised a brow at maddox, huffing at his question. "because you lifted me up here and could've hurt yourself!" she exclaimed. "and, the nurses didn't tell us what happened, and river's worried about you, and marcella and river are talking some serious stuff out." kat continued rambling under her breath.

marcella sat next to him hesitantly. she looked at him quietly, wiping her eyes again. “tell me if i hurt you.” she told him, observing his injuries.

maddox gave her a charming grin. “i didn’t have anything major except for a broken rib, and that’s on the other side.” he told her. “and a few stitches on my arm.” he added. he narrowed his eyes. “what kind of serious stuff?” he asked.

river nodded his head, watching as marcella sat down. he kissed her cheek, carefully wrapping an arm around her. "it'll be okay." he promised her, kissing the top of her shoulder.

kat huffed at his response, pausing as he questioned her. she shook her head, waving her hand dismissively. "they'll tell us when they want to. don't you dare try to push them into it." she spoke, pointing her finger at maddox and narrowing her eyes.

marcella nodded. “i know.” she sighed, looking down at the small bump. “i know.” she said again. she gave him a kiss, and relaxed a bit.

maddox’s eyes widened. “that serious, huh?” he asked. he smiled at her, running his hands up and down his other arm.

river hummed slightly, glancing down to her belly after he returned the kiss. "what do you think? boy or girl?" he questioned curiously, resting his head against the pillow.

kat nodded, glad maddox wasn't pushing it. "are you cold?" she questioned the male, grasping the covers and tugging them up higher, being careful not to actually touch him because she wasn't sure what area hurt and what didn't.

marcella thought for a moment. “boy.” she said a while later. “i want a boy.” she said quietly. “but i’d like spoiling a little girl.” she added.

“kat, i’m fine.” he said. maddox was happy that kat was here with him, his family being on a three-day getaway, they’d be getting back today. “when i get better, i’m going to take you out on a date.”
