river turned his head to marcella, giving her an apologetic look. he kissed the top of her head before nodding to maddox, heading out the front door. "we'll be back, later!" he called out as they exited the house.

marcella woke up, a sigh escaping her lips as she peeked in river’s room and he wasn’t there. she was also nervous, and pulled out a box that she had under the sink. she knocked on kat’s door frantically, not wanting michelle to see the box in her hands.

kat was watching tv and drinking some coffee, pausing as she heard a knock. placing her mug down, she opened her door, raising a brow at marcella. "hey, what's that?" she questioned with her head tilting to the side, peeking at the box in her friend's hands with curiosity.

marcella rushed into kat’s room and sat on the bed. she opened the box and pulled out a pregnancy test. “i-i think i’m pregnant.” she said nervously, pulling up her shirt to reveal a tiny bump, barely visible. “or just bloated.”

kat shut the door once marcella entered, following the girl over to her bed and taking a seat. as marcella opened the box to reveal a pregnancy test, kat's eyes widened with shock, moving to marcella's stomach, her jaw almost dropping. "u-uh, okay. uumm..make an appointment, then? to see?" she suggested, eyes still wide. "is your, uh, time of the month late?"

marcella nodded with a frown. “i will... after i take this..” she sighed. “yes, it’s been late..” she said, about to break down in tears. “i’m not ready to be a mom!” she exclaimed, accidentally really loud.

kat nodded once more, slow, processing things. as marcella spoke of not being ready, kat quickly stood and hugged the girl tight. "well..thinga always happen for a reason, right?" she nervously chuckled.

marcella’s eyes widened. “what if river gets angry? what if he doesn’t want a baby?” she asked as she went into the bathroom to take her test. her mind was full of what-ifs, and she was scared.

kat took a seat on the bed as marcella disappeared into the bathroom, not hearing michelle's footsteps approaching or the gentle knock. "marci, i'm sure he'll love a baby with you. don't freak out, you don't know for sure." she spoke, eyes widening as she turned to see michelle's head poking through the door, her mother's eyes equally as wide as she quickly slipped into the room. "you might be pregnant?" michelle asked.

marcella set a timer and poked her head out. “yeah.” she said quietly. the timer went off and she closed her eyes. “w-what does it say?” she asked the two.
