cole was in basement, lifting weights. he was stress out with school and saffron just made it worse. he was straining himself, not wanting to do anything but lift weights.

[Berenice.]

Saffron began looking at flights for anywhere they would be safe. Cole had to go with her whether he liked it or not. Now he was in just as much danger as her. Her head was a mess, so telling him was going to be something she’d try to do last. Saff then decided to try and find somewhere they could stay in the places that had available flights. She could only find half decent hotels, but she couldn’t be picky.

cole finally made himself go upstairs and took saffron’s phone. “you won’t get it back until you tell me what’s going on. or else if you don’t want to be truthful with me, me and autumn will move to California for good, without you.”

[Berenice.]

Saffron was shocked because of what he had said. “You’d do that would you? After everything I’ve done for you, you’d move just like that? Gosh! You are like everyone else! As soon as something happens, you decide to just runaway! Maybe it’s something personal. Maybe it’s something that has absolutely nothing to do with you! You’ll just overreact if I tell you anyway.”

”says the one who’s looking up plane tickets and hotels.” he murmured and looked at her phone. “i am keeping this until you say something about the sudden mood change.” he went up to his room and locked the door.

[Berenice.]

Saffron stood straight up when Cole took her phone with him. “Don’t you dare.” She quickly ran after him and tried to open the door, but huffed at the fact he had locked it. “Open the door and I’ll tell you. But you have to swear on your life you won’t overreact. I’ve put us all in danger so you better open this door.”

”i don’t know i could beat you on crutches.” he murmured and opened the door. “you don’t get your phone back until i hear your explanation.” he told her and went back to his bed.

Saffron sighed and thought about what she was going to say. “Um.. Ava’s Dad has found us. When she was first born he tried to take her and after that I obviously ran away. You might just say call the cops, but it really isn’t that simple. He has so much more power than you can imagine. That’s another thing I’ll have to tell you about because it’s important. Anyway, he texted me and threatened me saying that basically he’s coming for Ava and I can’t do anything to stop him. But I really really can’t let him anywhere near her, you need to understand that. He’s more than a criminal and he isn’t alone and I was so clueless to that before Ava. I’m not joking when I say he will kill us if we get in the way.”

cole just hugged saffron. you should go to the house in California. i can deal with him.” he told her and kissed her. he groaned when his bad foot hit the door when he was turning. “your not alone in this.”

[Berenice.]

“No, no, no. You absolutely cannot be left by yourself. Especially with a crippled ankle. He knows about the house in California. We have to actually leave. We can’t waste any time. I don’t know where he is. He could be in the yard for all I know.” She answered, looking down when he hit his foot in case he damaged it.
