Drake nodded a little. "Yeah, maybe. Who knows, maybe they'll have a better idea of whatever's happening here than we do." He suggested, staying close to Diana as she began slowly walking around.

"Guess we should probably head over now, if we wanna hear everything." Diana shrugged, peering at an oddly small painting on the wall. "Where do you get this stuff?" She asked, looking down at the fluffy white rug. Which, evidently, had a few small specks of red in the corner nearest the front door.
Diana headed towards that same door and rested her hand on the knob, ready to turn it when they decided to leave.

"Yeah, I guess you're right." Drake said, turning to head off before pausing at the question and looking at what Diana was looking at. "I dunno. My mom liked that stuff and she had a way of digging it all up." He responded before clasping his hands together. "Right. Let's get going then."

Diana


Diana nodded at Drake's very short story before exiting the house and letting the male close the door behind them. She took a look around before purposefully heading towards the Town Square, where she suspected people would be meeting. As they passed by multiple houses with flames flickering in the windows, she wondered just how long this would last before something happened.

Drake shut the door behind them, not bothering to be careful as he let it more or less slam shut. He then jogged a little to catch up to Diana before walking alongside her and taking note of what he saw which, admittedly, wasn't much.

Diana


The deserted streets honestly made Diana a bit nervous as she came up to the Town Square. Kids were more-or-less going crazy over sweets. Apparently, some kid whom Diana vaguely remembered was named Sam Temple, was telling the worried children to just eat a cookie and everything would be better.
She found this out when she passed a small girl sitting on the ground eating a sugar cookie the size of her hand. She was speaking to a boy a bit younger than her, telling him that Sam was saying they could get cookies if they wanted do. Diana had an idea. "Dude - we can break into vending machines." She said. "We could do anything now." She said. "We could drive. Whatever." She suppressed a grin and stepped forwards, looking around and trying to catch the air of conversation. A perfect place to eavesdrop, if you asked her, though there wasn't. much reason since everyone was talking about the adults, and some strange reason that the Wi-Fi wasn't working.
Also some strange grayish barrier.
Diana cocked her head and turned to Drake. "Did you hear that-" She glanced at a group of kids. "Some gray barrier thing?" She pressed her hands together and listened.

Drake raised his eyebrows, growing intrigued as he listened to the various conversations. "That there is a great idea." He said, not really wanting to admit it but Diana had brought up a good point. They really could do whatever they wanted. He then listened into the conversations for a little and, at the next question, he glanced back at Diana and nodded, confirming that he did indeed hear that. Drake wondered how and why there'd suddenly be a weird barrier but then a thought popped into his head. Typically, barriers blocked things off from one another. Well, if there was a barrier, what was it blocking? Where were they cut off from. "We should check it out later or something." He suggested.

Diana


Diana nodded. "Maybe we can break through it." She said, instinctively looking around for the "barrier". She couldn't see it. "Or climb it." She suggested, pondering. "I guess the rest of the world is on the other side." Diana finished.
After a few more minutes of listening to conversation, she got tired of hearing about Wi-Fi, families and house fires.
Moving along to the front of the crowd, Diana saw it was basically a line up to a large building. She squeezed her way past and up to the front to see that the people who had waited longest were getting something wrapped in a package that Diana recognized as a burrito. Shrugging, she squeezed into the front of the line and waited. "Um, sorry, that spot is taken." Said a boy behind her. Diana turned to see he was a few inches shorter than her, and cocked her head. "Excuse me? I didn't catch that." She said before walking up to get her lunch. Then realizing she had left Drake behind, Diana exited the building and somehow found him in the crowd. She held up the paper. "They're giving away burritos." She said plainly, unwrapping hers and taking a bite.

((I just find it so funny that Diana is walking around in a crowd, and one of the first things she discovers is burritos.))

"Yeah, shouldn't be too hard to overcome." Drake said, mostly to himself as Diana was not there anymore. He was too busy walking around and staring down whatever kid looked at him for a moment too long to notice that Diana was no longer beside him.

Only when Diana returned with a burrito did Drake realize that she had gone somewhere. He simply stared at her in amusement. Of course when everything goes mad, the first thing she manages to find are burritos.

"Dude, when everyone starves, your gonna thank me for collecting food." Diana joked. She didn't really believe that would happen, but hey, if it did they would be ready, with all the grocery stores around to stock up necessities. "Anyways, I was hungry. Find anything out?" She asked. Otherwise, she would probably suggest going to visit the "barrier" people had been talking about, though she didn't exactly believe that was true.
"Wonder if Caine's got anything we're supposed to do," Diana said. "Probably, someones trying to take over." She finished, looking around. She didn't want to join the weak group in case that something might happen, but if she joined a strong leader who wasn't afraid to call people out for their mistakes, or punish, she might just be safe in case this went on for a long time.
