finally, madeline was able to sleep for the first time in a while. she didn't mind that joby wanted to sleep on the couch while she stayed in her room, partly because she could only imagine how weird it would be to sleep in the same bed with someone you hardly knew. the sound of madeline's alarm jolted the young woman awake, the back of her head smacking up against the headboard upon her surprise. a small groan escaped her lips, but it didn't stop her from getting out of bed. groggily, she kicked off the sheets that were curled around her feet, as she made her way over to the open doorway to get some breakfast. usually, she got something to eat before she officially got herself ready for the day. upon noticing that joby was there, she slowly removed the hand that rubbed her aching neck, smiling crookedly. "hey," she greeted, disappearing behind the door of the refrigerator. "did you sleep good?"

joby reached into the fridge, picking up a carton of orange juice and taking off the cap so he could take an experimental sniff. deciding it was good, he turned around to search for the glasses, only to see her standing there. she scared the crap out of him, to say the least. he ended up cursing and dropping the juice, spilling it across the floor. "fu- yeah, i-i guess." he relaxed his tensed up shoulders, sighing and looking at the floor. "i'll clean it up." he mumbled grumpily, clearly still tired as he grabbed a towel and crouched down to press it over the mess. the shirtless, messy-haired man glanced up at her while he cleaned. "i was gonna make breakfast for us, but nevermind. seems like i don't even know what i'm doing, anyway." he joked, smiling crookedly.

as soon as the juice hit the floor, madeline gasped, peeking her head out from the fridge door. of course, she wasn't upset or anything. instead, she mused a laugh, removing herself from the door as she made her way over to joby. "don't worry about it. i didn't have the best morning, either," she chided, a dumbfounded smile splayed neatly atop her rosy lips. madeline crouched down to grab the now empty carton from the floor, tossing it into one of the nearby garbage bins. "that's sweet of you, really. but i wouldn't mind making it," she replied, hazel gaze flicking over to joby.

joby was just glad she wasn't upset. he was still tired, if that was an acceptable excuse. once the mess was all gone, he pushed the towel aside and stood up, combing his fingers through his hair. "yeah, alright. seems like you're a better cook anyway, huh?" he smiled and stepped back, sitting down at the table. "so, any plans for today?"

madeline smiled at his comment, her gaze drifting to the fridge as she grabbed a few necessities to make some breakfast, preferably bacon and eggs. her expression grew thoughtful, a hand cranking on one of the stovetops as she placed a pan over the hot surface. "let's see.." madeline suddenly remembered she had an ultrasound today, and she wasn't entirely sure whether joby would be willing to go or not. it wouldn't hurt to suggest it, at least. "i actually have an ultrasound in a couple hours, if you uh, want to come with me. it only takes about thirty minutes. then, we can do something afterwards. whatever you'd like."
