[miss kobayashi]

as he heard kyo's voice again, he tightened up, gripping onto the back of the others shirt. only a few stray tears fell from his face after that, his heart still aching from his emotional outburst.

don't let go. he silently told kyo, knowing that was the only thing keeping him happy in the disastrous situation.

" I-I like you a lot, kyo. i'm sorry. " ren had his mind filled with regretful choices. he felt like every word he said hurt their relationship. he just wanted to be with kyo. why would he assume that kyo would use him like that. idiot. ren scolded himself again.

kyo remained quiet aside from the humming, just rubbing ren's back, glad that he was seemingly calming down a bit. listening when ren spoke, kyo slowly shook his head in response, realizing afterwards that ren couldn't see.

"there's no need to be sorry, ren." he assured him, lightly rubbing his back once more. "i'm sorry if i made you feel like that." kyo added quietly, resting his chin on the top of ren's head.

a small smile ticked at kyo's lips as a thought entered his mind. "i mean, my sandwiches aren't that bad, are they?" he attempted a stupid joke.

ren listened to kyo, nodding in reassurance to show that he was okay. he sniffed quietly, his breathing shaky after all of his uncontrolled crying.

he paused for a moment, before letting out a choked up laugh, shaking his head. he pulled slightly away from kyo, enough to still be holding onto him but looking up. his eyes were puffy and red, but he ignored it, instead wanting to focus on kyo.

ren huffed quietly, warming up to a weak but happy smile. " you're really too sweet. " he murmured out.

kyo smiled gently as he heard ren's laugh, glancing down when the male pulled away to look up at him. his heart ached as he saw ren's puffy eyes, placing a soft kiss on his forehead, not wanting to make him uncomfortable.

as he spoke, kyo grinned and winked playfully. "only for you." he responded, glad that ren seemed to be feeling better. he rubbed ren's back once more, moving his other hand to gently move some of ren's hair.

"are you okay?" kyo finally questioned, his voice lowering to a much more soft tone, his eyes searching ren's face.

his smile grew wider at kyo's wink, a wave of relief knowing they weren't going to leave on a bad note as he feared they would before. his tears stopped, but his head now pounded from the loss of fluid. not to mention his tiredness catching up to him.

" yeah... " he murmurs, having trouble looking directly into kyo's due to the severe embarrassment he was feeling now. at least kyo still had his dignity. ren... he probably lost that since the storm incident.

" how are you? " ren questioned, wanting to be just as supporting and compassionate as the other. it was the least he could do now.

kyo nodded his head slowly, happy ren was perking up again. as the question was returned, he hummed. "i'm alright." he replied with a small smile. the night had been thrown into a whirlwind, but he was glad they were able to talk it out.

"you seem tired. are you ready to head back?" he then questioned, tilting his head a bit. "i can carry you, if you'd like." kyo added on, feeling bad that he had kept ren out so late.

a part of him wanted to ask if they were still on for the adventure for tomorrow, but he figured he'd ask later on once they were on the train, or something.

ren nodded slowly. it wasn't the answer he wanted to hear, but was probably the best answer kyo could've given. more guilt filled his chest. poor kyo. he didn't deserve any of this. why can't I do anything right?

he nodded again at kyo's question, too emotionally drained to think any more, let alone talk. he felt a strong urge to apologize again. he ruined their date. idiot.

he shook his head at kyo's offer. he didn't want the other to do anything else for him. he let go of his grip on kyo, reaching and rubbing his other arm awkwardly.

kyo ran his fingers through his hair, reluctantly releasing ren. he wanted to hug and kiss him and let him know that everything was going to be okay, but he knew ren was tired and probably pretty drained from everything.

"okay, the station is this way." kyo finally spoke, gently motioning for ren to follow him. walking down the street, he paused to make sure ren was beside him before continuing to walk.

his thoughts were a mess, running all over the place. he just wanted to make ren happy, and it seemed as if he had somehow managed to do the opposite of that within ten minutes.

ren nodded his head once more, doubting that even if he could talk a word would be able to come out.

he followed silently behind kyo, looking up at him to show the other that he was following behind him. ren wrapped his arms around himself, hugging his arms close to his chest.

ren reached for his face, rubbing his tear stained cheeks and letting out one last quiet sniff. he was tired, and he could feel his eyelids grow heavy as they walked. maybe he shouldn't have stayed up so late.

kyo walked to the station silently, just lost in his thoughts. as they approached the station, he wasn't surprised that there was nobody else waiting for a ride.

glancing over to ren, he offered a small smile, leaning against one of the poles and stifling a yawn. he lifted his phone to check the time, hoping that it wasn't too late for the train to come by.

rubbing his eyes, kyo tilted his head to look at ren, sighing quietly. he really wished he could fix what ren was feeling, but he had no idea how to.
