[miss kobayashi]

ren obliges, leaning down carefully until he was resting on his back next to kyo. his arms awkwardly rested at his sides, unsure what he was supposed to do with them. he gazes up into the sky.

" oh! there's-... oh. no. nevermind... it's just a star. not moving. " he chuckles sheepishly, rolling his eyes.

" we'll find one. " ren promises, intensely focusing on the sky above them. a small yawn escapes him, but he shakes his hed to fight back any tired thoughts.

kyo watched ren slowly lay down, humming quietly. looking back to the sky when ren spoke up, he chuckled as well as the male corrected himself.

when ren spoke, kyo dipped his head in a nod, turning it back to ren when he saw the small yawn. "i can walk you home, if you'd like?" he suggested, not wanting to force the male to stay out if he was tired.

he quietly observed ren, his lips twitching upwards in a faint smile. he was so lucky that ren was even giving him the time of day, or, night. he was baffled how such an amazing person like ren lived so close to him, and he was just that lucky to have met him.

ren shook his head in concern. the last thing he wanted to do was leave. " n-no. I want to stay... ' he mumbles softly.

after a moment of quiet, he inches closer to kyo, barely close enough to touch him. ren lets out a quiet sigh, leaning his head against the other, biting his lip and trying to force his blush away.

his eyes sparkle with delight as he notices something in the sky. " I think I see one! hurry! do you see it? "

kyo watched ren carefully, slowly nodding his head and relaxing. as ren moved closer, kyo bit his lower lip to hide a smile, wanting to shout with joy as he felt ren's head rest on him.

instead of shouting and probably making an absolute fool of himself, kyo slowly reached down and laced his fingers with ren's, gaze quickly moving to the sky when ren spoke up.

he beamed as he just barely caught sight of the shooting star before it was gone, slight excitement coursing through his veins. "i saw it." he confirmed happily.

he felt his heart pound faster as kyo reached down and intertwined their fingers, biting his lip harder to suppress a nervous smile.

it all started to feel unreal. this. and being with him... the stranger who would come into his shop and buy a flower every day. the friend with a passionate talent for tattoos. kyo, the person who he never would dare tell his feelings to.

" well? " he hums softly, speaking as quiet as he could as if not to break the peaceful silence. " did you make a wish? " ren questioned, looking at kyo curiously.

kyo watched the night sky, a smile spread across his lips. as ren spoke up, kyo hummed. "yeah, i did." he answered, his voice staying low and quiet as well. glancing to ren, he tilted his head slightly.

"did you?" kyo returned the question, lightly squeezing the other's hand. this was undoubtedly one of the best days kyo had in a while. after the incident, his days seemed to just blend together. hell, even a little before the incident they did. but now, he had ren to look forward to.

he'd get to see him in the shop, laugh and joke and just enjoy time spent with him. kyo knew that there was definitely a chance of ren not wanting a relationship with him in the future, and he tried to keep his hopes low due to that. even if he had ren as a friend and nothing more, it would still be an amazing thing.

ren goes quiet, shutting his eyes and just happily taking in the moment. " maybe. " he murmurs after a moment of silence. his eyes glanced back up at the stars as he thought about the wish he made.

" what... um... what did you wish for? " ren adds, mentally face palming at the stupid and indefinitely clichéd phrase.

he took a moment, while resting on kyo, to take a deep breath of the others scent. he felt comfort in smelling kyo, as if the scent of the other was a familiar smell.

kyo chuckled at rens reply, shaking his head with amusement. when ren questioned him, kyo paused, humming slightly. "if i tell you, won't it not come true?" he spoke playfully, a teasing grin on his lips.

glancing back to the sky, kyo sighed softly. "i wished that you always stay happy." he murmured quietly. all of the wishes for himself would be childish, materialistic things, anyways. forcing out a small laugh, kyo shrugged.

"kind of weird, i'm sorry." the male murmured in slight regret, wishing he hadn't told ren. it was weird, and cheesy, and though he didn't regret the wish, he wanted to take back verbalizing it.

ren grinned, squeezing kyo's hand playfully. " I think that's just a myth. " he purrs gently, shuting his eyes contentedly for another moment.

he held his breath the second kyo told him his wish. he felt immediately regretful of his own wish, too ashamed to even bring it up. ren pushed himself back up into a sitting position, clinging on tightly to his own shirt.

" no... that's... " he could feel himself become overcome with emotion, his heart beating so fast he could barely keep up with it. " that was really your wish? " ren questioned, almost doubtful.

kyo watched as ren sat up, his heart dropping immediately. "i'm sorry." kyo repeated, quickly sitting up as well. at ren's question, he sighed, glancing at the water.

"yeah. i mean, it's kind of like a wish for myself, too. i always like seeing you happy and laughing, it makes me feel happy that you're happy." he mumbled, plucking at some grass.

"i'm sorry, it was stupid, i shouldn't have said it." kyo added afterwards, his shoulders slumped. had he just ruined everything with his stupid mouth?
